i have the 3DS and they are really comfortable, no pressure points, and great ankle support

I also ride the 3DS bindings and they are super comfortable. Very supportive all the way around. I've ridden in some cold water conditions also and they keep my feet warm so I can ride longer. I'd say give 'em a try.

I recently ditched a pair of LF Element (crap bindings) for a pair of '06 3DS. I love them, can't say enough about them. Great ankle support and hold down. I noticed though that the inside liner (neoprene) is torn. I called hyperlite and they said to send them in for a replacement. They offer a limited lifetime warranty on the '06 and newer bindings.

Ive got the shanes and a buddy has the 3DS. THe 3DS is a much stiffer binding. I would say you need to try these on for sure becuase they dont have as many lace zones to get a tight personal fit.
For the shanes, great entry and release. Much more support than I was expecting. Great foot bed, could be a little bit better for draining...

I would say try before you buy. go into your shop and throw each one on for a little while, they offer really different styles of support. just my .02
