Looking at what I can afford. Does anyone have opionions of:

Kicker KB600 (Monster) - will the brackets hold up?
Boss ?
Bazooka Tubbies
etc.

Overall looking for best bang for $600 (bolt ons, including amp and wiring)

Thanks for your help
I wouldn't say the Boss -or- Monster speakers are low end by any means. The KB600's are a really good deal.

WakeProducts.com has MB Quarts, Infinity Kappas, or Audiobahn in Polished Cans for $399 a pair. http://www.wakeproducts.com/seperates.html

I used to have the monsters on my old centurion. Awesome speakers. Defenitly hold up.
Project sound just as good as a set 2x their price!

You get what you pay for

That's true, and since I only have so much money, I chose to buy a good boat (Nautique) and live with mediocre tunes. We all have our priorities.

Lightning Accessories...all the way. Their prices are great and the product is the best. They use ARC competition quality speakers and amps. Just compare and you will want their stuff. Most of the companies use China imports. The best stuff comes from Canada. Just do the research and you will SEE.

I second Lightning Accessories. They have the best stuff out there!

does Lightning Accessories use car audio or pro audio drivers?

tommyc 04-16-2005 10:38 AM

Lightning Accessories uses ARC Audio stuff built to their specs. Also, their amps have fans in them, so they dont overheat. J-Rod, my last boat(you remember) had 2 MTX amps with 1500 total watts & Defcom 4 speakers w/sub. I thought it sounded great. My new boat has Lightning seperates and 2000 watts and sounds better than anything I have heard(with similar equiptment). It kills my last boat sound.

Hey Ray,
No pun intended. I choose to have a blinging system. My favorite boat is the super air. One day I will have one. It's hard going to school and having a boat.

Cool deal Jeff,

I understand that. I'm a high school math teacher, so I'm not getting rich quick myself.

I build my own speakers for under $350. I bought 4 of the sony 1640h's, a 800w amp, and all the wiring for under $350. The speakers sound awesome from 70feet behind the boat.

I bought 2 pair of audiobahn tower speakers from wakeproduscts.com 3 way component speakers. They sound awesome look awesome. My friend took the boat all the way out to the middle of the lake which was a good 600 yards away and I could still here the music crisp and he was only playing the radio.

Call Mako Industries at (760) 489-4404, and tell them the rep (me) from KC sent you. They can give you the hook-up and a KICKER set-up. If you have any other questions e-mail me.

Try www.loudliquid.com L69 enclosures with Kicker DS 3-ways 6 x 9'S. Awesome sound and light weight.
