congrats on the new site Dave

looks great!

liljohn 03-01-2010 12:23 AM

Site looks awsome man! Keep it coming.

pesos 03-01-2010 12:27 AM

is there a way to have it save your login info and/or auto login with a cookie?

is there a way to set it so that you get an email triggered for every reply to a thread, as before, or do you have to always visit the site before you will get more notifications?

alindquist 03-01-2010 5:58 AM

looks good... still trying to figure everything out.

sidekicknicholas 03-01-2010 7:12 AM

Yup, loving it.

I think once everyone gets their feet wet it will run reaaaal smoothly.

zo1 03-01-2010 7:14 AM

Lookin good.... Everyone will get it. Kinda like learnin how to walk again after 9 or so yrs of the other board every day...

zo1 03-01-2010 7:22 AM

Wes, take a look in Profile >> Settings for email options...

pierce_bronkite 03-01-2010 7:45 AM

Good to see the forums on VBulletin. The site is looking great. Good job. Thanks.

bigdad 03-01-2010 7:52 AM

Went to my profile.... I have no friends.... Thanks for pointing that out Dave.

03-01-2010 7:55 AM

Great job Dave...new site looks good. Still finding my way around though.

norbiv 03-01-2010 8:14 AM

yeah dave! looks sick! like it a lot!

bendow 03-01-2010 8:23 AM

I can't tell who's who....the names are different. Wes, should I call you peso now?

ritchieps190 03-01-2010 8:29 AM

Wes has always been pesos, you just don't get both names like you used to.

bendow 03-01-2010 8:36 AM

yeah...I figured that out.

I also noted that the post count are inacurate.

bcrider 03-01-2010 9:05 AM

Site looks great Dave. Just curious as to why you wouldn't size the page for a 17" monitor considering most are atleast that size now?

kraig 03-01-2010 9:14 AM

Lovin the new site. Alot to learn but I like the new look. It's very refreshing to see it. The old site was clean and easy to use and in time we'll all be flying around the new site like the old one.

Great job Dave!

P.S. Why are the post counts off?

pesos 03-01-2010 9:20 AM

manzo, i went to settings and it looks like (by default) everything there is checked. however I don't see anything having to do with what I want (which is to have an email generated for every response to a thread, like it used to be) -- much more mobile-phone friendly

ord27 03-01-2010 9:49 AM

wes, you could get an email notification before?
wow, I have been missing out

nice site Dave
ut oh, spell check isn't working for me......might be trouble

zo1 03-01-2010 10:36 AM

Sorry wes, I will admit that I did not read through the options, but rather unchecked them all and then shot a msg to you...

Quote:

Only if Rod is posting on the thread :)

bigdad 03-01-2010 11:00 AM

I like how it shows you when you joined. I'm an O.G.

Click the thread you want to be notified about, select "Thread Tools", select "Subscribe to this thread". That will email you every time there is a reply.

Actually this forum is the correct size. You dont size pages by monitor sizes, but rather than resolution sizes. Usually the standard maximum size for fixed page widths is under 1000 pixels so that way you target the lowest resolution for today's browser sizes which is 1024x768. Dave has it spot on.

bdavis 03-01-2010 3:49 PM

Good job Dave. Looks great. Now take a vacation.

dabell 03-01-2010 3:54 PM

I agree, the site looks very good. I am sure over time Dave will have all the tweeking done and things will be normal for his life. Right now, I am sure he is probably running round this site looking for things to fix. :D

bill_sloan 03-01-2010 4:10 PM

I'm really loving all the social networking aspects that Dave has built in.
I also lucked out being Dave's first friend.

pesos 03-01-2010 4:11 PM

Pierce, actually I don't think that is the case. I have it set that way, and what I get is:

Quote:

Dear pesos,

jakoerber has just replied to a thread you have subscribed to entitled - olympic hockey - in the Non-Wakeboarding Discussion forum of WakeWorld.

This thread is located at:
http://www.wakeworld.com/forum/showt...9&goto=newpost

Here is the message that has just been posted:
***************
almost all playoff hockey is like that, if you can pick a team to stand behind regular seasons games against rivals are great
***************

There may also be other replies, but you will not receive any more notifications until you visit the forum again.

All the best,
WakeWorld
The red part is what I'm talking about. You won't get an email with each reply, as it was with the old site - you will get one notification email, and then none until you visit the site again with your browser. This is a real pain when trying to follow threads on a mobile phone.

zo1 03-02-2010 5:10 AM

Wes, the cookies you listed in the other thread look like they might be from the old site. Here is the full list of cookies that I get on the new site through the path HP >> Non-wake >> log in

Take a look for bbuserid and bbpassword

Love the new look, but how do you stay logged in? I can't even find the login field on most pages!

dohboy 03-02-2010 6:18 AM

Yeah I agree with Trace about the logging in. I keep getting logged out. I don't know until I go to post and I can't.

I think the User Control Panel needs this added as a Thread Subscription choice. i.e. :
Default Thread Subscription Mode
When you post a new thread, or reply to a topic, you can choose to automatically add that thread to your list of subscribed threads, with the option to receive email notification of new replies to that thread.
Default Thread Subscription Mode:

WakeWorld Rev3 ;) lol

Oh, Great Job Dave !! I am stoked we have a new board. This site has way too much traffic for that old behemouth

calexan 03-02-2010 4:25 PM

I had the same problem too at first. After I talked with David, he advised me to completely clear my old history out and restart my browser. I've had no problems since
