I'm thinking about buying kicker tower speakers. 4 cans, 4 speakers front and four facing back. Does anyone have these. I want to know if you can hear them while your riding and if there is any point of having the four facing forward.
|
why 4 facing forward?
|
kicker sells tower cans with 2 speakers for each can. One facing front and one facing the back.
|
I had four speakers facing forward and four backward but the front facing speakers get trashed. Not to mention if you have good speakers in your boat there is no need for them. I tie up every sunday and it was annoying having the speakers right next to your ear...especially when you are trying to talk to someone.

I am not a big fan of foward facing speakers either.

I had forward facing speakers on my old boat and I loved them its good when people are up front they can hear the music loud too !!!!!

I had 4 Kicker KM6.2s on my tower and you could hear them at 80' but not loud and clear. I just modified the cans and switched them to Wet sounds XS 650s. I am hoping this will be an improvement, if not I will be adding a couple Pro 80s.
|
Go with the pro 80's David. Use those XS 650's as you're in boat speakers.

Kicker don't make any tower systems other than the KMT6 system - which consists of 2 cans - 4 woofers, 2 tweeters in total.

Hit up kicker.com for more details

Kicker also has some other stuff not out on there website.

Their probably tower speakers found on Ebay. I see them on there all the time with forward facing tower speakers. I think its kinda cheesy to have them facing forward. There is some cat on my lake that has them on like a Bayliner or something and it's very annoying but then again I guess our rear facing tower speakers probably annoy other boaters.
