I just bought a 2008 Murray 140 and went to put my bindings on it and there is about an 1/8th inch of resin in each of the binding inserts. Im wondering If I should try to thread the binding screws into the resin and hope they catch the threads on the insert? Or should I just take the board to a shop and try to get a new one? Called a local hyperlite dealer and they said I need to go buy a tap and tap into the inserts. I just dont want to mess it up and strip em out. Plus I dont think I should even have to deal with that. Any suggestions?

This used to be a more frequent problem. When the board is being glassed at the factory they actually fill in the insert holes with fiberglass. Sometimes they don't drill them out all the way. Your local shop should have a bit to finish the job. If not they can get one from Hype. They may just swap it out, hit them up!

Yeah board shop should be able to help you out with this. I have the tap myself and have had to clean some threads out on occasion. Not a big deal.

Yeah I got it taken care of, theyre gonna get me a new ride. Really just didnt think I'd ever have to do that with a new board.
