One of the guys I work with has family about 20 minutes away from there. They say pictures don't do it justice.
Looks like one of those 3D chalk art that the guys do on the side walks.

That hole is real? Guess i haven't been keeping up with the news lately. Did it swallow something up? How did it form?

Like one guy commented on the story, where did all the material go? 175,000 cu. yds of material just disappeared? I also think there is a bigger problem lurking underneath Guatemala.

It all washed away, right? Generally caused by sandstone or limestone eroding into the underground aquifers I think...

A friend of mine was just down there and says this thing is unreal. He goes for a couple weeks and experiences a volcano, tropical storm, mudslides, airport/road closures, and now a sink hole! Quite the adventure he is having.
