Mastercraft X25 engine size

Hey just a quick question on opinions about the 2012 X25 with the 5.7 ilmor. In particular would love to see a video, or somebody let me know the planing time with 10 adults and full stock ballast, i understand that the 6.0 or 6.2 would be better but i have found an awesome deal here on a boat (in Australia) which makes it hard to demo as i would have to buy interstate sight unseen

Previous boat was a 2007 X2 with MCX without AA plate and was happy with the performance of the motor so in particular how it would compare to that would also be great! thanks

I had a 2011 and 2012 both with 6L engines. The Latter had the Ilmor. To speculate, I would guess that if your X2 had a 5.7, and assuming the X25 has a 5.7, the X25 will feel more sluggish due to the boat being much heavier.

When I went from a 5.7L Moomba LSV to a 6L X25, I noticed that the X25 was powerful, but not quite as nimble as the LSV - again probably due to weight.

I have never tried an X25 with the 5.7 so I can comment for sure. Good Luck, you cant go wrong withan X25 :)

I am sure you'd be happy with the 5.7. I had the MCX in my '07 and would completely sack the boat out for surfing, it did fine although honestly I did not have anything to judge it against. When fully loaded with people and sacked for wakeboarding it did take a while to get on plane. I ordered the 7.4L in the new boat mostly because more is better...but would have been satisfied I'm sure with the 6.2L. Good luck with the purchase!
