Dock Accessories
 

So I have a newer wood dock, the actual structure is fine and planks are all sound. Problem is I am on Brackish Water here in Jersey and ity really corrodes everything else. I have been through two water lines, first one was what was there when i bought the house, looked to be metal or copper or something similiar. That burst even though the water blown out of water during the winter. So we changed to PVC piping and that has held up for two winters but its just waiting to break. We have 2 water spiggots(metal connected to PVC) on the dock and the weight of the house alone bends the PVC and will break it over time. Also we had a spot light on the dock shining on the boat which corroded over the winter and fell.

So i guess my question is how are you guys plumbing your dock. what materials for the main water line Also what spot lights if any do you have? Is there a dock place that could sell this type of stuff. Ive done some google searching but havent come up with much. Do not need anything crazy just items that will get the job done and not corrode in 2-3 yrs.

Thicker walled PVC?

call tiger boat docks...friends family owns it,. they build all across the country. they may have soem solutions?

PEX is your next bet, it is a form of Polyethylene. As for the hose on your spigot, anchor it better like to a 2 x 4 staked in the ground.

On the TX gulf coast here, our outdoor lights are all painted alloy and hold up well (off the shelf at Lowes/Home Depot). the fasteners give before the fixtures, I use all galvanized on my fasteners here. I am right on the bay, so the air is always salt.

I have the thick PVC, i just feel there must be other/better option. I see other docks with copper pipes and some sort of black pipes. And as for the spigot it is attached to the pilon holding the dock. I have a permanat dock in a tidal area.

Im really looking for a website i can browse and see what is available. Lights spots and floor, pilon caps, water lines, electrical wire, all corrosion proof. I am in the electrical industry and know corrosion proof items exist, but unfortunately im in the industrial side of things so I dont have many connections to resedential itmes. Then I can decide what is best for my application and go from there. All the work I can do myself just dont want to have to do it twice with crappy parts. Well a third time cosidering its been done once already. lol

@Fred I will look into PEX. and as you said all my fasterners give first but then the lights fall and break or into the bay to never be seen again. I will def paint everythign next time around. I am on the bay too so everythign lasts about half of what it should
