Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone here rides, or has ridden in Australia, specifically the Brisbane area. I am studying here for a semester and really want to get out and ride. Thanks.

i studied abroad in sydney a few years back. go to that site mentioned by manda, and also check with the local univiersities for waterksi/wakeboard clubs. australia has tons of great places to ride, with really dramatic scenery.

But....you'll be in Brisbane, go surfing!!!!! wakeboarding is slower to pick up in australia b/c the surfing is amazing and very accesible. i love wakeboarding, but...when in rome.....

as above wake.com.au is your best start.

If in brisbane and your studing, UQ wake club is the way to go all are welcome. They wake on campus every sunday of the yearfrom 10am.
|
Yea, I've looked at the UQ wakeboard club, and I have heard that they want $90, just to join, which would be worth it if I wasn't able to just get a pull from someone. But I will get some more info on the club first.
|
The $90 is for insurance (to join UQ sport) If your a student of UQ you can join UQ sport for $25 then join the club.

Finding a pull from locals you would be better of hitting wake.com and posting.

ring UQ's club president on 0417078706 and see what the deal is.
