A couple of O'Briens 2011 boards have wood strinkers in them, The Format, Josh Sanders new board and the Paradigm, Sean O'Briens new HybridFlex board.

The Format is super light, do to the wood stringers, they are able to use a lighter glass lay up but still achieve amazing strength, it is a really fun board to ride.

The Paradigm is a cross between a park board and a wake board, flexy at the tip and tail, but stiff between the bindings. Ptex bottom and super durable side walls, this thing can take a beating, it's also fun as hell to ride!

Are wood stringers a new thing? I thought boards have had wood stringers forever.

They have. Obrien just jumping on the bandwagon. They need to reformat their wake team. At least in the u.s. Anyways. Dalas isnt going to cut it by herself.

What boards have had wood stringers forever? And I am talking top to bottom full core thickness wood stringers, not some laminate or something.

I have an old trophy from a contest made out of an Iconn that was cut in half and it has three wood stringers going the full length of the board. I know of at least one manufacturer that used them too. I just kind of assumed that was how it's always been.

No, Im saying that the U.S. team outside of Dallas and Sean O is weak. Granted Bret V, Cobe, are great riders. Classic old school guys. But since Watkins and Sanders took a different approach to each of their respectful careers Obrien has been out of the game so-to-speak. All I'm saying is that they need to get a rider that is going to be able to be that poster child for them. (for lack of a better term)

those lf bindings are clean as hell. lookin good. unsure on that girls one....... from a retail standpoint....... brutal.

facebook also has a little teaser video for Slingshot 2011. all it is is text and dramatic music, but it works for intrigue

some kind of new flex pattern/ core apparently. and judging by the pictures, it looks like the top contours changed a bit

Greg Nelson showed us the new Hyperlite binding system in person while I was at Worlds. Looks pretty damn cool. Super light. They run very narrow, which is good for me because I have a super narrow foot. The hold should be interesting on the water.

Corey - I saw the 2011 C-Cub catalog yesterday. C-Dub has some nice stuff coming out this year and the DB9 looks sick. Unfortunately, I don't a have a photo to postt, but I remember correctly, the graphic is similar to the 2010 and the colorway is Black/Green (think Monster Energy) versus the Black/Gold or Yellow

always seemed silly to put the heavy metal fins on such a light weight board. im rather see standard black fiberglass (or whatever they are) ones.

Brandon - I'd get back on the C-Dubs if we had a better dealer in the area and I could try them all out.. The new stuff looks super sweet. Not sure which board would suit my riding, I couldn't find one that I really like before. Just got a 2011 Witness, so i'll probably stick with it for a hot minute.

Corey - I am pretty sure the DB9 remains unchanged for 2011, just the different graphics. I believe it is the same shape as The Faction with a different core, Brandon could probably tell you a little better. I'm really digging the X-Faction. Grind base all purpose assault weapon that you can take to the cable. The new stuff is slick, they really did a nice job for 2011.

Those "One Love" LWA boards have a "aggressive 5 stage rocker"... interesting. i can recall hearing of some wakeskates with that kind of rocker but not a wakeboard.

Blow me mark. Not the case what so ever. You can honestly say that theres not gimic there with a 5-stage rocker? And hyperlite has had their share as well (i.e. Byerly flow-thru) as well as other companies. I think hype has been years behind in their boot tech the past 4 or 5 seasons compared to lf. Lf has had the best boots for a while now. So just becasue im excited to try something out, dont misinterpurit it for something else.

I don't agree with that at all. How many posts have there been concerning the busted air pockets on the 09 and 10 boots? I think Ronix has had the best boots for the past two years (wasn't the 2009 One boot the Product of the Year?). They haven't changed them much at all the past three years (09, 10, 11), and that is usually the mark of a good design (same reason LF can still sell bookoos of the Watson Classic).
