I'm a teacher/coach who wakeboards all summer, but I have a friend who is managing a marina. He wants to put on wakeboard competition, but none of the tours across the country he's been in touch with are down for stopping at our lake. He wants me to organize one which I could.
I've been in some competitions so I understand the formats and how they run, but does he have to front insurance for the competition? If you have the competitors sign a release are you still liable. What are the legal logistics of putting on a competition.
Call the WWA. (863) 551-1683 They have been insuring our events/riders for the last 6 years.

I would still have all riders sign a release of liability.

Not sure if it's a must, but at our tournaments (same ones jeff is talking about) we have a emergercy vehicle and someone who can do CPR (I believe) always ready to go just in case.

Hey,
I ve put on events for about 6 years. Try calling your Hyperlite rep and do a Hyperlite tour stop. For a price they will provide insurance , trophy's and t-shirts. Let me know if you have any questions. Where are you ?
Matt
