Ok, if I were to attempt a rail my first try, would I fall?

ghettofab 03-23-2009 8:43 PM

no?

wswb4lfe 03-23-2009 9:04 PM

Idk i've never hit a rail on a wakeskate, but i have on a skateboard. Is a wakeskate easier?

wakemitch 03-23-2009 10:05 PM

odds are you are going to fall your first try. but you will most likely fall past it into the water and not on the rail. an incline or a flat bar are the best rails to start with.

I would have to agree with Mitch but that doesn't mean you're definitely going to but since it would your first time the odds are kind of against you but then again if you've done it on a skateboard so I don't know

ive hit rails on a skate board and i planned to hit it on a skate (an up down) i ended up strapping in and hitting it i fell my first time then rode away a few more times i would unless your completly confident strap in for your first hit to get the feel of it and because you can do a nose press or tail press without slipping out much easier when your strapped in

i would suggest trying on a wakeboard as well.. (sure its like cheating, but..)
i rode this weekend (@ koppert) we kept driving so close to the rails and i kept think just go hit it.. (last time i "pacticed" them on a wakeboard then a skate)
so with out even wetting them down i charged the rainbow rail.

went on 5050.. the board slid out and ended up in a front side "rib" slide.. and im pretty soar.
my son said at least you landed it.. the rib slide.. first try..

have fun and be safe.. as you can.

i have never hit a rail on a wakeboard and i dont think you need to hit a rail on a wakeskate. wakeskating is its own thing. just build a ride on incline thats 16ft long and about a 2-3 foot drop and start with that. then when you get comfortable with that you can start ollie onto it instead of riding on. just absorb the rail with your knees and stay over the board.

Yeah i dont think i'll be hitting rails any time soon. It would suck to get a ticket

smith86 03-29-2009 4:42 PM

hey man just go for it.
i was at owc in feb. and i rode 2 laps around b4 i hit n e thing. It Mitch is exactly right just absorbe the rail with your knees and stay over the board. my first i did a butt slide on the box but after that i was good.
Good Luck. (wear a helmet)

Patch-"It would suck to get a ticket"
Meaning??

wswb4lfe 07-17-2009 5:45 PM

Meaning i don't want to pay for a ticket...

cdhayes2 07-18-2009 10:03 AM

You get a ticket for doing rails?
