Fuel pump nwas not running so I pulled it and put it in a friends boat and it ran flawlessly just turning the key. I checked the fuses and even changed them. Is there a breaker or something else I can check? I have never had a problem before but a few weeks ago the engine died while struggling to get out of the hole. It was almost like the computer shut it down under load for heat?

What else can I try?

Follow the wires connected to the fuel pump. They should lead to an oil pressure switch. This switch is designed to cut power to the fuel pump if there is no oil pressure. Sometimes these switches get corroded or just go bad. Luckily they are usually no more than $30 to replace. To double check this problem you can run a jumper wire at the switch. Then just turn the key and listen to see if the pump is working. You should not have to start the boat to do this test.

Ok so I have an 06 Supra. That would be ideal and is very possible but I followed the wires and they seem to go up into the engine somewhere underneath the air filter. It is hard to see under there. Any experience with these Indmar assault engines or suggetions on where to look for the oil pressure switch on my Supra?

So I read on another online forum that the oil pressure switch is powered by a brown wire next to the oil filter. Can anyone verify this?

Should I be able to just disconnect it to get the engine started?
