- - Wakeboard Tower on a PWC! (http://www.wakeworld.com/forum/showthread.php?t=637738)

I don't know if anyone has posted this before. I didn't see it. But check this thing out:
http://cgi.ebay.com/PWC-waketower-for-sea-doo-jetski-and-waverunner_W0QQitemZ230295660022QQcmdZViewItem?has h=item230295660022&_trkparms=72%3A1418|39%3A1|66%3A2|65%3A12|240%3A1318&_trksid=p3 286.c0.m14#ebayphotohosting

I can't imagine having something like this on a PWC, let alone pay a ridiculous $1900. The wake is too pathetic on PWCs to even bother with trying to move the rope up, and can you imagine how'd it'd affect and pull the PWC over when the boarder cuts way out?

looks dangerous. every time i get on a pwc i try eject myself, probably wouldn't want to go over the front on this one.

malibuboats4 10-20-2008 3:29 PM

i bet the jet ski would list so bad when the rider pulls....

knarbar 10-20-2008 3:46 PM

Imagine if you flipped over in the water which often happens on PWC's. How hard would that be to flip back over

crosenhahn 10-20-2008 3:47 PM

I would put it on a stand up jet ski... How cool would that be....think of the tricks you could do.

Seriously reminds me of a roll-cage though.

duffymahoney 10-20-2008 5:23 PM

Alot of people in my area use pwc's for wakeskating. You know grinding etc.. and they really like the small wakes. So I guess it would be good for that.

Duffy

it looks like the tower is in front of the driver. I can see this being used for skating and sliders... nothing more...

waketowake 10-20-2008 6:28 PM

considering they sell for 12,000 thats not bad looks dangerous though, and it says that condition is new. But why would they put it on that one, and not the wake skate version?

waketowake 10-20-2008 6:32 PM

wow my bad i thought they were selling the ski too.

yeah,
add $2000 to a $10-$12K PWC and you shoulda gone and got a late 90's MC pro star or 2001...
I made the mistake of gettin a SeaDoo first.. bought it new in June 06 and was boat shopping in Aug. 06! Thank Goodness for a willing wife! She let me buy the boat and helped cover the SeaDoo bill until the next May!
I did not realize how annoying PWC's were til I sold mine and got in a boat...

The late model seadoos and PWCs are very tough to flip over. However, a tower like that might make it a little easier to flip.

westsidarider 10-20-2008 8:28 PM

i think it was about 8 years ago when they were using jet skis for the skate division on the pwt they had towers on them

themxercr85 10-21-2008 7:56 AM

We have an RXP and an RXT and I have rolled them both, its not super easy, but its not hard either. If you ride them like a normal person then you wont, but if you ride like me you probably will.

polarbill 10-21-2008 8:22 AM

I am with you Twitch. RI have zero problem rolling my friends RX.

themxercr85 10-21-2008 7:24 PM

The only way ive flipped them, is with atleast 3 ppl (rxp) and 4 ppl (rxt) screwin around our I do this thing with both feet on the left side standing up with my palm on the throttle pulling the bars over with one hand and leaning wayyyy inside the turn and the intake eventually comes out of the water and i start to roll but i hang on and mostly it will go back to normal but sometimes if im deep under water itl roll. But most people dont do that lol so i think its okay.

hehateme 10-21-2008 8:13 PM

Wow, I am about 235 pounds and my brother and I can stand on one side of his Yamaha, and that thing aint goin anywhere! I guess we are not doing any tricks either, I guess you would be riding in a straight line if your towing somebody anyway. Anyway, thing still looks ugly as hell.

davomaddo 10-21-2008 8:50 PM

That tower would be great for wakeboarding in the surf... the rope wouldn't get hung up in the waves... as much

ncboarderboy 10-22-2008 4:52 AM

i thought pontoons with towers were retarded

roverjohn 10-22-2008 2:15 PM

That tower might allow the driver to more easily keep a straight course but you'd think he'd get seasick listing side to side. I just got an '04 GTI LE and I think you'd really have to try to turn it over. Well, unless you put a four tall tower on and someone like me tried to do it. How long before someone mounts four cans on it after installing a 10,000 watt stereo?

chqwakeboarder 10-23-2008 5:47 PM

Gerald B.,
I hope you are not serious. Are there really pontoon boats with towers? If anyone has a picture please post it. I was on a jet ski a few years ago doing 70 and hit a wave. I flew over the front of the ski. If that tower was there, I would either be spitting up all of my teeth or be dead.

i sold a big air tower to a guy putting it on a pontoon boat this summer. I made him promise to send me pics... but he never did.
