2000lbs = no wake still <BR> <BR>its 100% ski boat

i had an 86. your biggest problem is rot. many of the engine mount bolts were spinning. the fiberglass was splitting from moisture. there must have been a leaky exhaust for some time - it also split the fiberglass where the exhaust goes under the floor. the exhaust was pumping water under the floor and into the boat filling it with fumes as well. to fix you have to take up the floor which is a bitch unless you have all the time in the world. <BR>the wake wasn't bad - its probably the best for its time period. but for a few thousand $$$ more, you can get a boat 1993 or up with no wood and a better wake. in my opinion that boat is only worth that money if its been completely restored. its an antique for cryin out loud!

Thanks for the opinions. Might not be qhat I'm looking for especially with that wake. Looks about as big as my I/O with 500lbs. <BR> <BR> Haven't actually seen the boat, just sounds like the guy might be looking to off it. I wouldn't give him asking thats for sure.

Couple of my buddies got a 87 Supra Sun Sport earlier this summer.... bow is completely diffferent from that one but the wake wasnt anything to brag about.... look at the nautique 2001's lot better for the same price!!!!

I learned my first invert on a 89 Supra Conbrio so I'm sure its about the same wake (or lack of a wake). Doesn't matter how much weight you put in it, the wake is almost non-existant. You almost sink the thing once you add fat sacks.

low freeboard and no wake.

Can that thing sit any lower in the water. My dad had an 87 supra sunsport. I wish I had tried fat sacks in that thing. Sucker was a barge.

Looks like I'll keep my eyes peeled for something else...the money is better off in a boat that will throw a wake, hopefully one of those Nautique 2001's will show up in the Seattle area by next summer. Thanks for all your input!

I got an 87 Supra SunSport this spring and it is comparable to the SN2001 w/ an open bow. The surf wave is awesome! Lots of pics, let me know if you want to see more search SunSport or my name maybe. <BR> <BR>The Comp is their slalom skiing model. Wrong model. Go for the SunSport. There are a few other models of old Supras out there that are ok too but SS is the best unless you want the 23' Pirata with a 454 lol.

me and a buddy bought a 1987 Supra SunSport this summer and it is an awesome boat; you will buy one of these cheaper than a Nautique 2001. IMHO I pefered my 87 SunSport's wake (on a good night) to a 2007 Air Nautique any day

got an '88 &amp; you have to have good form (edging &amp; pop) to do tricks, can't let the wake do your pop for you. a buddy of mine can throw ALL this tricks behind our '88 (raley, backroll, scarecrow, 1/2 Cab Rolls, 3's, etc...) <BR> <BR>You run out of room quick once you add ballast bags though...
