Depthsounder location?, and ... what is this unknown object under here?

I am searching for a place inside my hull to glue-in (with epoxy) a pod transducer for a fish locator. (I want to graph the water column more than locate fish ... but anyway).

I’m not sure but, I believe my 2006 Nautique SV-211 came with a Faria transducer and depthsounder. I am adding a Lowrance PDT-WSU pod transducer 106-50. In spite of the Lowrnce model numbers, its operating frequency is 200 kHz frequency and its cone angle is 10 degrees.

Having researched older threads, it seems if I want a location where:

1 - the hulls is believed to stay in the water,
2 - the hull is relatively level (ie., within 10 degrees of dead rise or less), and
3 - the spot is not trailing behind anything producing turbulence or bubbles (eg., tracking fins, an intake, or other device).

I have no idea if I should be some distance apart from the stock from transducer or any other electrical equipment (I know on my fishing boat, the flourescent black light plays havoc with the fish locator. I run them on separate circuits to avoid the interference.)

Given the WW thread above, all the choice spots are already taken on my boat. In fact, I wish I could mount the new transducer where the mystery object is. However, I might just go to the opposite side of the boat.

Inside the passenger compartment of my boat, this is a perorated, stainless sheet access panel, screwed to the deck underneath the base of the driver’s seat. It provides access to a mystery object mounted to the hull. I can barely see the mystery object. But what I can see, it looks like a pod transducer ... as for a depth transducer. But that doesn’t make sense. I believe I have made a definite find of one in another place. Why would there be two?

On the outside of the hull, this is the belly ballast thru hull fitting (looking aft).

Looking aft again, in the foreground (left to right), this shows (1) a black plastic shield underneath the depth-sounder transducer, (2) the drain hole, (3) paddle wheel ... and then ... behind the black plastic shield, (4) the raw water thru hull intake, ... and ... in a lateral plane aft of the raw water intake, (5, 6) the starboard and port thru hull fittings

wrong photo. Here is correct photo.

This a close-up of (1) the black plastic shield underneath the depth-sounder transducer, (2) the raw water thru hull intake, and (3) the starboard thru hull fitting (looking aft)

This is a close up of (1) the drain hole, (2) the paddle wheel and (3) the port thru hull fitting (looking diagonally between aft and outboard)

This is a close up of the paddle wheel (the port thru hull fitting is in the background).

Now inside the hull, this is the forward bilge pump, and, the thru hull fitting for the belly ballast.

This is an overhead view of the drain hole, the housing for the paddle wheel (in the bottom of the view) and what I believe is a pod transducer for a depthsounder (in the top of the view). The back wall of the fuel tank is relatively forward of the drain hole, and the case for the V-drive is relatively aft.

This is the raw water thru hull fitting and valve, and the starboard ballast thru hull fitting and valve.

This is the port ballast thru hull fitting (valve barely in view, as is housing for paddle wheel at the bottom).

This is the housing of paddle wheel (against the back wall of fuel tank). It sure looks like a Faria model number SN0015 - Thru-hull Flush Mounted Temperature and Speed Sender.

I believe this to be the pod transducer for the depthsounder, mounted behind the back wall of the fuel tank. It does not match in appearance the Faria models I see at

http://faria-instruments.com/transducers.php

It looks a lot more like the Lowrance pod transducer I intend to mount.

(The drain hole and raw water thru hull fitting are also in view).

Looks like the same depth finder transducer I put in my boat. It should be a uniden model QT206 here are a couple pics for comparison
