For whatever stupid reason, I left the trailer's emergency brake cable hooked to my truck when unhitching the other day. Needless to say, I heard the noise as I pulled the truck away. Snap!

Anyone done this? I assume the trailer brakes are seized up and I need to get in there and release them. Uggh.

I did the same thing. Had someone unhook the trailer and I pulled away. My Trailer has a break release under the hitch. I just pushed it and it released the breaks.

On older trailers you have to back it up to release the brakes. We figured this out the hard way.

i did the same thing... i didnt even have to push the button it released itself when i backed up...

Did you replace the cable? Was that hard to do? Glad to know I am not the only one.

I did not have to replace the cable. I just bent the hook back to shape. I used a bench vice to reshape it.

did the same thing yesterday, I hope I just need to bend the hook back into shape
