LOL I hang out with them both every now and then through a mutual friend who I happen to wakeboard with out on Harris (the blue boat in my big timeline banner or w/e they call it). Actually, the dude I wakeboard with (George) works with PJ. I think PJ lives in Fuquay now.
Yea I met george and his girl at Iso's at a few times. Shorter guy who sucks at cornhole if I recall. Think he said he has a centurion. Actually going out with all of them tonight for some beers while the hens cluck

boardjnky4 12-07-2012 11:30 AM

haha yeah, george has a falcon v. Small world man.

MIKEnNC 12-07-2012 11:44 AM

hope u guys dont forget about me since i dont have facebook, dont forget about the guy that started the thread, lol

boardjnky4 12-07-2012 11:45 AM

we'll continue with this thread and email as well!

you should create a fake-ish facebook profile. Just use a fake name and don't put in any personal information that you don't want anyone to know.

Wake08 12-07-2012 7:17 PM

hey Mike, PM isn't working for me for some reason, but shoot me an e-mail at "asoute98@yahoo.com" and I'll keep you posted when we're going out next spring and all of that good stuff

surffresh 12-08-2012 6:36 AM

also...Charlotte area wakeboarding on Facebook has about 300 friends, good place to catch some rides / demos

boardjnky4 12-08-2012 6:43 AM

Damn and here I thought we were doing good at 11 people lol

antoddio 12-08-2012 4:57 PM

Anyone still riding? was out on Norman today...quite a few boats running around, so had to find a nice cove

boardjnky4 12-08-2012 6:13 PM

not me, hexagon is open this weekend but i don't have in me to brave it in a 3/2

antoddio 12-08-2012 6:18 PM

I think I may be the only one with a drysuit in this state! Of course I just moved from WI.

boardjnky4 12-08-2012 6:56 PM

haha, yeah i haven't had it in me to go that far... they're pricey too lol. i'm gearing up for some winter weather to get some weekends of snowboarding in to fill the gap here. got a trip to colorado planned in february, plus the usual local stuff around here.

matt_ostmeyer 12-08-2012 8:47 PM

Looking for a pull on Norman

Hey anyone on Lake Norman or Mountain Island still riding and need a third? (Or 4th ...) Just moved onto the lake and looking for some pulls while I find my new boat! Been riding for 15 years or so, I'll hook you up some gas and boat maintenance and give you some good pulls too! Today water was 63 and butter so I'm jonesin pretty bad! 913 908-8081 is my phone!

Pfanny 12-09-2012 9:19 AM

I'm in Raleigh and ride at Falls/Barton's Creek as often as I can. Most of my friends are intermediate boarding, surfing and slalom. I'm addicted to all three. Look forward to meeting some new people and progressing next year. I'm definitely down for some early Saturdays at Falls and maybe a camping weekend (maybe coordinate when Overton's is doing a demo).

I usually kick off the season with Wake N Flake. It's a good time and a good cause. Here's a link. http://www.wakenflake.com/

dawnb 12-13-2012 7:31 AM

hey guys and Mike, I live right around the corner from Harris Lake and am there all the time on weekends and after work. I have 01 Air Nautique we load down with fat sacs. I ride a Slingshot and Liquid Force. Always looking for more people to ride with and share taking out boats. Im putting my boat up for sale beginning of season to get a super air as well.

MIKEnNC 12-13-2012 2:25 PM

what color is your nautique, prob seen u out there in passing over the summer, mine is the black and white nautique with the rediculously loud stereo system, i posted another thread with pics of it in the boats/tow vehicles forum, ill prob have a new g23 or tige next time i hit harris though, been trying to decide between the two, yes i know the g23 is bigger, better, etc, but i also like the rz2, hopefully i can decide soon

She's lying, she actually has a 1994 bass Ranger outboard that we ride around in while listening to an iphone. On top of that her bass boat loved to eat cameras which can really ruin your day as well.

MIKEnNC 12-15-2012 9:25 AM

Lol, that's just wrong

bwahahahaha....dont hate on my bass boat that i hook my walkman up to a bullhorn...you enjoyed every bit of it! As far as the camera, thats how I make a living, you lose your stuff on my boat and I sell it on craigslist...hahaaa....

Chris, you on way to Utah?

I cant wait to Spring,,,,so ready to up my game behind the boat!

Wake08 12-21-2012 6:16 PM

Just got back, 10" the day before alta, 16" the night before brighton, it was great. I even crossed over to the dark side and tried out a snowboard on the last day. I've also realized that on both snow and water rails are still the devil and the bane of my existence.

eccpaint 12-26-2012 11:56 AM

Hope we can get a bunch together for http://wakenflake.com ! It is Saturday March 2nd. Last year we had 83 boarders. This year will likely top 100 with additional dealers involved plus 2 cableparks (Hexagon & Jibtopia) This is our yearly fundraiser for http://waketheworld.org

Wake08 01-05-2013 12:45 PM

What would be a good lake to do a houseboat trip on? I'm wanting to throw something together late April or so (depending on weather) and I'm trying to find a good lake for riding as well as renting a houseboat. Anyone have any good/bad experiences?

BamaLurker 01-08-2013 11:48 AM

If that one guy chooses a Tige over a G23 Sumone up there please slap him!
J/K, but for real though!!!!

Pfanny 01-08-2013 7:09 PM

Smith Mountain Lake, VA is great for house boating and riding. The water might be a little chilly in late April, but less boat traffic to deal with. We rented from Parrott Cove two years ago and had a great time. I try to get up there a few times a year...

Wake08 01-09-2013 3:33 AM

Thanks for the info Adam

williamburell 06-12-2013 4:52 PM

Justony 06-13-2013 6:48 AM

Lake Norman Here. New to the area so still just trying not to get lost

mgerbos 06-13-2013 8:54 AM

Hey William,

Sounds like fun but don't really know my way around Falls Lake. Where is Redneck Cove?

williamburell 06-13-2013 11:17 AM

http://i1304.photobucket.com/albums/...psf5339f03.png

Here is a map. When you come out of Barton's you will take a right at the only building on the lake. There is an island right there. Make sure you stay to the left side of the island if you like your prop.

mgerbos 06-13-2013 1:41 PM

Sounds good. Going to start around noon?

williamburell 06-13-2013 4:02 PM

Yea I figure we'll go get some morning sets in early early and then retire around noon or whenever I see the first tube/jet ski

boardjnky4 06-13-2013 6:53 PM

Morning sets and afternoon beers is a home run

BigMack 06-13-2013 10:59 PM

I live in Asheville, NC. Will be riding some around Lake Norman, and anywhere else I can.

AdamTX 08-09-2013 7:41 AM

Just moved to Charlotte from Austin, TX. Hitting Lake Wylie today! Found a storage place for my Nautique real close to the lake in Tega Cay. Always have room for extra riders!

Wake08 08-09-2013 11:57 AM

Check out Lake Norman tomorrow. There's an INT event going on at 643 Williamson Rd., Mooresville, NC 28117

http://www.intleague.com/northcarolina/

antoddio 08-09-2013 1:25 PM

Adam, haven't made it to Wylie with the boat yet, but might in the next few weekends. Shoot me your info and we can meet up.

Just found this thread. Weather tomorrow looks crappy but wife and I might head up and check it out. We're in Charlotte and ride Wylie.

dridge617 08-09-2013 2:50 PM

Just found this thread as well. From Greensboro, N.C. here! We typically go to Badin, Hyco, or Belews (Belews for real short rides during the week). I am always down to meet up and ride with a crew though! Recently Purchased an Axis A22 so I am trying to get all the riding in I can before the seasons over!

Wake08 08-10-2013 3:53 AM

Congrats on the new boat Derek!

newmy79 08-10-2013 6:57 PM

How'd the event go today? Weathermen are morons. It was sunny and got as hell. Didn't make it up, had family leave mid afternoon for their return trip north.

dridge617 08-12-2013 8:58 AM

Is anyone interested in trying to plan a big ride or get together on a lake for an upcoming weekend or Labor Day weekend? Thank you, Chirs, went from an 01 Moomba Outback LS to this 2013 Axis and I freaking love it!

boardjnky4 08-12-2013 10:38 AM

What region? Would be down to do something in the Raleigh area but not labor day weekend.

mtbartlett 08-12-2013 12:06 PM

I live on Wylie. Would love to meet up and ride some days. Tore my meniscus hitting the double up a few weeks back so I'm out for a bit. :(

Wake08 08-13-2013 3:52 AM

Ask and ye shall receive it seems...

Looks like some folks are going to be out on Falls this Saturday and Harris Sunday. Falls is a little bit tougher to meet everyone if the water is decent and people are riding all day, but if it gets busy/choppy I'm sure everyone will catch up and hang out for the afternoon.

Harris is pretty small for the riding area so if you head out your bound to see/meet everyone else.

Facebook event is up but it's closed right now, I asked the creator to make it open and I'll post a link when she does. That will be the easiest way to talk with everyone that will be out.

Wake08 08-13-2013 4:52 AM

Give this a shot, I think anyone can join the event now:

https://www.facebook.com/events/643359029021324/

dridge617 08-13-2013 6:35 AM

Which ever lake is fine with me. I live in Greensboro but I have no problem commuting to Wylie, Falls, Hyco, Norman, or anywhere else for that matter. As Far as the Facebook goes, that link didn't take me to the event, just my events page.

newmy79 08-13-2013 9:47 AM

I'm always looking to meet some folks at Wylie. I'd actually like to find a place to camp on a lake with the boat.

hey Chris we'll prob be out saturday depending on water and if we go on a hyco trip. If you come out can you bring the girls vest? I'm not sure how 3 chicks who rode in 1 boat had the same vest. Blowing my mind

Wake08 08-13-2013 11:55 AM

Derek, not sure why the link isn't working. The event is called "Falls and Harris wakeboard/surf weekend " so you may be able to search for it and join as well.

Cory, sure thing. Katherine has it right now and mentioned that the sizes got mixed up. I'll try to snag it from her before she heads out of town this weekend and have it on hand Saturday.

Cap305 08-13-2013 12:25 PM

Lake Norman rider here. Usually ride in a cove just east of Brawley School Rd. 2001 Malibu 23LSV (red/black). Stop by and shout a hello if anyone happens to be in the area.

mtbartlett 08-14-2013 7:05 AM

I know you can camp at McDowell Nature Preserve. Don't think you can leave the boat in the water there though.

McDowell nature preserve is like 2 miles from my house, kind of looking for something a little further away. Going to look at Lake Murray in Columbia.

haha same, I live in the village at lake wylie

MIKEnNC 08-21-2013 5:54 PM

Did anyone meet up or did weather force everyone to cancel? Didn't c any pics from any meets

Wake08 08-22-2013 4:12 AM

I can't find any of the good pictures on Facebook right now but we were out Saturday as well as Thomas up on Falls. Had some riding in the rain (but the water was glass) and some side by side riding which made for a great time. Sunday was down at Harris with 4 boats and pretty great weather.

Wake08 08-28-2013 3:24 AM

A few folks will be up on Falls friday evening/night, hopefully after the traffic dies down. Then camping out and riding first thing in the morning on Saturday. Should be a great time!

jonblarc7 08-30-2013 5:48 AM

I'm desperate to find somebody to come ride on Thursday nights after work my crew has all but disappeared. I ride at Oak Hollow lake in High Point NC, its the prefect lake to wakeboard on because they don't allow jet ski's or tubing so the water is always glass. But they require 3 people to ski so with just me and my wife its not enough. Hit me up if you want to ride.

Derek it shouldn't be to far for you.

MIKEnNC 01-17-2014 6:34 AM

anyone planning anything for spring when it arrives, I definitely haven't seen or met any riders in Fayetteville or hope mills area that I live though it seems like this thread got a good response from other parts of nc when I originally started it.

boardjnky4 01-17-2014 6:58 AM

We ditched you and started a facebook group. Remember? LOL Sorry. A lot of active members there have been hanging out on Fall Lake. Make a facebook account (even if it's fake and just has the name Mike NC) and post up over there. Come out on Falls and have a good time. Wake08 above comes out all the time and he's down at Fort Bragg too I think.

I'll definitely be planning a meetup on Falls Lake as soon as the water warms up.

williamburell 01-21-2014 6:32 AM

Def need another meetup. Falls is sitting at like 40 degrees so I'm skeptical of when this crap is gonna break. Could always do a hyco trip when the air temps decide to get above bone chilling

I'm going to ignore that since I received no call, text, telegram, carrier pigeon, fb message, ww message, or short wave radio message as an invite. But seriously that sounds brutal

Also anyone in raleigh area know a good aluminum welder? Have a tower with set screws that I'm particularly sick of messing with and want to weld up

What's that, we're on a Tom boycott now? I'm all for it! Enduring the cold in a dry suit would definitely be worth it to get a little riding in before it finally warms up. How's the new ride treating you anyways?

Mike rides at Jordan for the most part last I remember chatting with him, I could never convince him to come up to falls and join the party. Maybe with a little more peer pressure he'll give it a shot.

Cory - I've got a buddy that does some welding in his spare time, I know he welded up a trailer really well for hauling his bikes long distances (custom bike stands, shelving...it's impressive). I'll check with him with what he can do and get back to you in a few days.

boardjnky4 01-22-2014 4:53 AM

Lol the drysuiit days are still few and far between. Long story with why Alison and I didn't invite anyone else. Ask her. First time on new boat as the owner. Did great!

That'd be awesome. Other problem is trying to find someone mobile. Not sure if the tower is gonna fit in the back of the truck to transport it. Gonna look into it though
