Painting polished aluminum?
Is it even worth the time and effort? I have been reading theres a realy trick to painting it, and you need to use a special etching primer to allow the paint to bond without peeling off.
For those who have attempted, was it worth it? Or money just down the drain. I bought some Polished aluminum cans and was thinking about painting them white to match my tower but may be thinking twice. |
Dont use etch primer on aluminum. Use either an epoxy primer or some companies make what they call a conversion coating for painting aluminum. Scuff them with a red Scotchbrite so you get good adhesion. It will only be a waste of money if you dont prep it right and dont use the correct materials.

Could look at getting them powder coated too.
