Is it possible to make a pylon out of a barefoot boom that sits off the side of the boat? My friend has an 89 MC and a boom and we were thinking og trying it
|
Yes, but only if you use the KW Show Ski equipment stuff. ECI and BFI do not use the same mounting system.

I am not a structual engineer, but I would think that if you clamped it to the ski pylon at the bottom and top, and ran the guide wire to the front, it should work. Just make sure no one is in the back of the boat when you try it.

thanks guys, if we try ill let you know how it goes

Be careful with the side loading...

Now this just has disaster written all over it. <img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/clipart/uhoh.gif" border=0>

There are a few currently listed for sale, but here's one: <BR> <BR><a href="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/8/475036.html?1184682238" target="_blank">http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/8/475036.html?1184682238</a>

yeah it never seemed like a good idea, i was just wondering if it was plausible and if anyone had done it...if it went wrong it could be disasterous
