buddy is looking at a boat and wanted to see how good of a wakeboard wake a 96 sunsetter would put up. It has wedge on it and would have some fat sacs in it. Also if it is well taken care of are they pretty reliable boats?

Is it a VLX? if so I had a 98 sunsetter vlx that I believe has the same hull as that boat and it put out a great wake. I didn't have the wedge just loaded it down with sacks.

Good boat, good wake potential.

Same hull (SV23 Wake) as the current I-Ride with a different deck.

o ok....any mechanical problems?

I have that exact boat, runs great w/no problems. I have the wedge and run about 1200lbs of ballast.

Here are some pics of the surf wake, sorry don't have regular pics of the wake. Its a nice solid wake, but its pretty wide compared to my buddies XStar.

I have a 95. Same boat as the 96. It is a great boat. Definitly Malibu's longest running hull (since you can still get it).

It throws a great wake with about 6-7 people and the wedge, plus no floor space is taken up with sacks.

Surf wake is great also. I run the slalom course in mine from time to time as well.

Good all-around boat. Probably one of the better D-Drive wake boats...
