How is the camping?

cathy 05-28-2007 9:43 AM

We didn't camp but our friends were. It seems nice if you don't mind a few hillbillies and rattlesnakes. They got a great spot right on the water.

Cathy!!! Hey....so thats where you've been hang'in. Sounds like you're getting really familiar with that lake, have'nt hit any rocks yet? I want to ride there again, I miss the glass. We used to hit there 3 times a week, it was like a private lake, the drive was worth it.

i camped there, its pretty nice, we were up in the arm i was jumping wake to wake and crashed by this thingy at the shoreline when i came up it looked like rice all around me but it was...maggots! aaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhgggg get me outta here! dead cow in the water and our wakes washed all in and out since we passed it a few times...other than the recurring nightmares i love to camp there but i just cannot do it

Hey Kev! Yeah, actually that's only the second time I've been (only been out 3x so far this year). It's a hike for me, neary 1.5 hours to get there. That's tough to do when the launch is right around the corner. But both times I've been we've had butter all day.

Andy - Eeeewwwwwwww!!!!!

We were there this weekend, Cathy & Ian were visiting us. Friday was GREAT, the rest of the weekend was crap unless you were up at 6:00 am... which I wasn't so I only rode once. I did learn to surf though.

Camping is nice but it seems that in the last couple of years, more idiots have found CFW and are taking control of the water and the campgrounds. I counted only two boats (other than us) that DIDN'T do power turns. Back at camp, the "kids" with the Centurians across from us (power turners) felt like everyone around them needed to listen to their music the entire time. My mom yelled at them after 10:00pm that it was time to turn it off... they did, but then later when a baby cried, they yelled back, "if we need to turn off our music, you need to shut your kid up". I'm tellin ya, if they were saying that about my kid, I woulda hauled off and decked the guy who said it. RUDE.

Anyway, for those inquiring minds, this time of year the water level is pretty high, so no prop eating rocks laying under the surface other than right at shore. We have found end of June to be the cut off point for us.
