2014 Denver Boat Show Pictures

Here's a few pics from the Denver Boat Show. Can't believe how expensive these boats are getting. Cheapest wakeboard boat at the show (that I saw) was $57k and that was a Supreme 226.
Malibu's offerings - REALLY liked the new LSV. I have never ever liked any of Malibu's boats as far as external styling goes and this one finally appealed to me (and my wife). Definitely a sharp looking boat. |

Another Malibu and my favorite boat, the X46 ($133k). Sorry, didn't get pics of every invoice and it wasn't intentional, just ran out of time.

Everyone on WW's favorite boat, the Tige ASR :D. Priced at $124,995 with boatmate trailer, 555hp engine, Wetsounds 808 audio. And to answer the next question, no there was not a G23 there to compare it to.

Some Colorado Tige love. :)

More Tige's. Everyone likes to rip on Tige for their pricing but for the record, you can get a loaded up Z3 for less than an Axis A24. Hmmm....who's over priced?
man.....prices are insane.
all of these boats cost more than i payed for my house.....lol |
do you think the industry will ever price itself out of business

over 20% off on the Tige and less than 5% on the Axis
thanks for the share Timmy! great pics
$83K for an Axis... Holy cow, here have I been lately?
I found something that I liked about every single boat there. Everybody has their own take on seating, vinyl colors and design, gelcoat colors, graphics, sound and engines, etc. It's really a lot of fun to just jump in them and see the differences.

those prices are LUDICROUS.
86 for an Axis...please |
I haven't spent time online looking at interior pics of the asr, but 2 questions.
Is it the camera angle or does the sun pad walk through area look like it's a foot deep? I thought it would be a cushion you flip over that has grip on the back for stepping, but this looks deep 6" deeper than the cushions on left and right. crazy how deep the hull is in new boats to pull that off with engine under it. Again, could be camera angle, does the transom walkthrough have a metal edge going across it the hight of the seat cushions? Guessing that opens up to a cooler or garbage or access storage? The metal edge looks like a shin splitter and small kid head basher. http://www.wakeworld.com/forum/attac...1&d=1389634737 |
All camera angle/cell phone pic issues. The the vinyl on the sun pad is creating a weird effect there making it look like it's that deep. No metal edges, the vinyl just looks like metal due to the metallic finish on it. Then in the bow area, that spot that says Tige in the seadek is raised and has a full size igloo cooler in it.
The drop from that walkthrough to the platform on the ASR is quite a drop too. The ASR and G series are crazy deep. Makes for a ton of storage though. I mentioned in another post that my 6 foot tall son could sit in the passenger storage lockers with room to move around in. Even in the G21....wish i had that kind of room.
You are right. Short people may not like the ASR's transom, it's quite a step from the sun pad to the swim platform.
Prices are stupid crazy!!!!! Looks like Supreme 226, is the best bargain on the market! Keeps the value of my old boat from depreciating to rapidly!!
What was included on the 226 for 57k bout 8k goofy more here
Stupid phone
So that Supreme was a weird deal, they showed the price as $57k but the one they had on the floor was actually $69k (maybe it was $67k) because it had the bigger engine and a blinged out trailer or something.
These prices are insane. We use our boat year round here in Florida and I would never pay that much. I cant imagine paying that much for something that I have to winterize every year and only get to enjoy part of the year. These boat builders are crazy!!!
My 2014 V226 was more than 57K too h20king. Had about 5K of stereo added too so thats a factor. One day following these forums and I think I got the best deal ever and the next I'm WTF I paid more than that. Chances are for 57K its a leftover 13 thats been floored all summer but it would be good to know.

Buyers are smarter than that I think. The boats look nice. 85k for an Axis does sound crazy although it looks like it is for an A24 with a 10k engine upgrade, big stereo and surfgate. |
115K for a Supra?!?!?!
GTFOH |

Well every brand has to have a boat well into 6 digits or they feel left out!! if they are selling them why not?? I just can't believe people are buying them!!

that's just one guys experience. I wanted a VLX but after I built it up it was a lot higher than I expected, and to be honest I got tired of analyzing the options. Supra just loads it from the start (especially the worlds). they only have like 3 options, heater, z-5, all else is included |
Thanks for the pics! I don't need to go to our local boat show now! The $$'s are stupid!

2013 Z3 vs 2014 A24? I'm not saying what should be priced more, but it's not apples to apples years wise...
Yeah Brett, a lot of that sort of thing goes on with outboards and inboard/outboards. A dealer that I partnered up with had poles with something like $299 per mo. $26,995 ( diff on every boat) on them way up high over each boat at the shows, they showed every boat on a trailer, but the actual price on that (per say) boat was like $29,995 because of the options and the real kick in the teeth was PLUS $2,950 or something for a single axle non painted trailer, these are fishing boats etc. I absolutely hated it ! Most were under powered also and they would say "hey I never caught a single fish going 50".
What sort of mark up are on these things? They just take 30k off the price as a special?

Considering the 14 Z3 was about 10k more than that 13 Z3 I wouldn't say the 13 Z3 was over priced. The Z3 is a much nicer boat than an Axis.
Than the a22 yes, but I disagree on the a24. On top of that it doesn't have surf gate, and ascetically that a24 blew away the z3. That's not even getting into the a24 wake performance over the z3
You are allowed to disagree. I disagree with all the stuff you just said.
I don't buy that, I've heard you say different
Opinions on boats are just like cars. We could discuss this all day and still not agree. It's best to agree to disagree.
I think Axis look cheap, feel cheap, and smell cheap. Would never own one. I'd rather have a used boat than a brand new axis, just for the sake of having a new boat.
The Z3 is really like 23'10" or something so just 2" shorter and 140 lbs heavier. Since that Z3 had the 409, the LS3 would probably be about a $3,500 to $5k upgrade. Only reason it's $10k on the Axis is because the 330hp is standard instead of the 350hp like the Z3. If you like the Axis better, more power to you. Axis is Malibu's cheap brand because they give you plastic panels vs vinyl covered, plastic dash vs vinyl wrapped, plastic cupholders, basic upholstery designs (those extra panels and stitching save labor costs), no Maliview, no billet, a basic tower and half a windshield.
Not knocking the Axis line, they are selling them and if you buy an A24 in the $70k range, that's a great value. Based on the used 24 MXZ's that I am seeing out there, I think it would be much smarter to buy a leftover MXZ or a 1 model year used for almost the same money as this loaded up one and in the long run, the MXZ is going to be a better value than a loaded up A24. Just my own opinion. |

I assure you that you can have just as much fun in an old boat. I've got 14 grand in mine. Paid for. Use it 200 hours a year all year long. It's a 90 with a 2011 Stroker that I put in it. Most people seeing think it's new.
Boat prices are reflecting the run up in housing prices, easily available credit , everybody better buy now because they going up up up so hurry and buy. Market will reach satuation and then a crash. Everybody knows none of them are WORTH more than 30,40K or so. |
Apparently the boating industry has subscribed fully to the old saying There's a sucker born every minute.
A sucker is the guy with 14k in a boat from 1990
Quote:
14k in a boat that is from 1990?
Let me repeat it once more. Fourteen thousand US dollars into a boat from the year 1990. That seems like a good deal? I think not |
That's way too deep to be into a boat like that.
Those new boats lose more than 14 k when you tow it away from the dealer.
And.....it's a Closed Bow!!! What I put together is equal to the same model in 2014 costing 50k+.....I got same wake and 50mph. No plans to sell ever. Works for me.
Oh and I did get about 2 grand for the old 350.
It really only works when you use a quality built Sanger... Others would be rotten and worn out...I still have original interior. LOL. No body is building with that quality today.
Ill consider my 05 v215 sanger that I bought for 18k with 160hrs a golden deal then I suppose.
Plus I can let chicks drive it and if they bump the dock it ain't no big thang
I'd say so JM.
