Just looking for some opinions on a few speakers for 6.5 cans.
Which are better?:
Pioneers
Sony Explodes
KB60's

I was thinking the explodes are the best of the 3. Just seeing what anyone else thinks.

I went to Circut City with intentions of getting sony 3 ways, ended up buying Pioneer Priemer 3 ways cause they sounded way better, criper and basier.

Have you considered getting some speaker designed to perform OUTSIDE, as opposed to INSIDE a car or room?
I'm trying to share with everyone the concept of using "Pro Audio" stuff instead of "Car Audio" stuff.
Compare the SPL's on what you are looking at and and then check out Celestion, JBL, or Eminence.
Good luck.

I read the other thread. But I just cant afford the added $bling bling$ to upgrade to the Pro Audio. I like those invert? speakers though. Saaweeet. The only store in CA is in Socal. I'm up North. My plan right now is to get 4 cans and fill them with the best speaker I can.... May not be the best thing to do, but it's better than nothing on a budget.

I just saw your enclosures. They are nice looking. Where did you get the speakers?

Thanks for the comments.
I have to say I'm not ussually into the looks part as my brain tends to focus more on function. But with some time, thought, and good input from some friends I'm happy with the asthetic(sp) results too.
The speakers are Eminence Beta 8's that I got from Orange County Speakers. Brian there was very helpful. We talked about going to 10's and leave no question about the amount of volume but I stuck with the 8's due to available headroom below the tower. The bottom is precisely 6'1". So I don't have to duck my 6'0" head down to get around. Also the bimini is not in the way when up. But if you saw the pics you could tell that I have it a little lower then most.

Scott, tell me your exact size and budget and I'll see what I can do. I'm in NorCal also. I roam between San Jose and Discovery Bay.
I agree that the NVERT enclosures are very sweeeet!
