Having problems getting my taps to respond. Started working intermittently, now not at all. I've checked for loose connections but found nothing. Any ideas? New relay or motor going bad or something I haven't thought of?

Are you sure it isn't working, and that it's not just the gauge? My gauge has gone out once already (14 month old boat) and now it works intermittently. Also, what year boat is it? They change TAPS from hydraulic to electric in 2003.
probably leaking fluid. the taps is behind the panel on the drivers side back compartment. screw off the top casing and look for the black plug behind the unit. take off the black plug and add ATF fluid.

Eric,

If you have a test light, check to be sure the relay under the dash has 12 volts going in. Follow the white coated wire coming out of the back of the shift mechanism up to the relay located under the dash. If there is 12 volts going in(red wire), see if the blue, yellow or green wires coming out of the relay are "hot" when you hit the taps switch. If the relay has 12 volts going out(blue, green, yellow), you probably lost the TAPS pump(starboard rear storage). If there is no 12 volts coming out of the relay, the relay is bad. If you bought the boat new, the pump has a 5 year warranty. Good luck!

Matt

One more thing to check is the TAPS switch itself. You should have 12 volts heading into the switch and 12 volts coming out on the way to the relay when the switch is activated.
