Which Winch?
 

I am a 215 lb guy that would want to use this for primarily for wakeboarding, some skating...and I"ve even seen some crazy vids of people barefooting w/ a winch.

I might have a possble line on a used Grinch Pro w/ 10hp and an extended line. (over 1,000 ft, I think)


given my size, is there some critera that I should meet? I'm guessing 6.5 hp might be a bit weak.

any recommendations?

Pulldozer makes the best winch that I've ever used. They are super smooth and are very reliable. They have been building winches for about 10 years and have continuously tweaked them over time making them super dialed.

I've used a lot of winches, and I would take a pulldozer over anything else if I had the choice.

Tarek, I considered going this same route, but then I though if, for whatever reason, I needed to sell it, it woudl be easier to sell an established brand.

Yeah I have. I'm not a fan of their shape and design. They are harder to carry around to a spot and the boxiness adds a lot of weight.

Pulldozers are streamlined and have what you need without a bunch of extra weight. If you are only winching from the hitch on your truck, its not much of an issue though.

Mitch, how about the actual pull of the Grinch? does it compare to the Dozer?

The pull was good. We didn't have any issues.

Thanks, Mitch. I noticed somthign about pulldozer that caught my eye. they mention that you can swap out spools pretty quickly. I haven't seen this mentioned anywhere else. this could be huge for me, because I'd most likely be towing my handle out to my my starting point w/ a boat in an idle zone.

can you swap spools pretty quickly?

the reason I ask is that I could pull out two handles on individual spools, pull one rider in, then swap spools and pull another rider in.
