I really like this feature on WW. great Job Arun. You also chose one of my favorite riders to watch.

For those learning this sport. Study the way this guy rides. This is how wakeboarding should look in my eyes.

When I want to show a non wakeboarder how cool our sport is, his video part in Delta Sessions is played.

kimmy 01-22-2004 7:17 PM

I agree, Mike is one of the nicest people that I have met on the water. His riding is incredible to watch. He is so helpful. I enjoyed the article as well.

(Message edited by KIMMY on January 22, 2004)

Yeah, Mike is way cool. A couple of my friends are going to help with instruction at his camp this year, so I think I will probably be making a trip to McClure come summertime.

dakid 01-22-2004 7:25 PM

Great job Arun. You couldn't have picked a nicer person for your feature.

Any chance you have a Windows Media version of the vid? Everytime I try to watch anything on Quicktime, my puter acts funny.

(Message edited by dakid on January 22, 2004)

Nice vid Poon. I've been seriously considering Mike's camp this year. Everyone speaks very highly of him.

craigger 01-22-2004 9:16 PM

poon 01-23-2004 7:23 AM

Hey, Thanks I appreciate it. Mike is a truly sincere individual thats for sure, and it shows in his actions........ oh and he rips on a wakeboard too
I actually wanted to get more footage of him hanging out around Santa Cruz so people can see what he does when he is home also, but due to my schedule I never ended up doing so. Looks like I will have to create another one of him : )

poon 01-23-2004 7:25 AM

Oh Joe, I can get you a .wmv version. I will actually send it to Dave so he can add it to the site. Take care

blabel 01-23-2004 7:27 AM

Yes Arun, you should!!!

dakid 01-23-2004 7:43 AM

Thanks Arun! And yeah, you should do Santa Cruz footage, too.

tommyc 01-23-2004 7:44 AM

My son went to Mikes camp last year. When he came back he was grabbing everything and his style had matured like it never had before. Mike is one of the nicest people I have ever met inside or outside of wakeboarding. He always has a smile on his face. He deserves the recognition.

lzyboy 01-23-2004 8:01 AM

jarv 01-23-2004 9:16 AM

Craig -

The track on the video is called "Ooh Aah" and is on the Album "Art of Translation" by the group Grits.

socalwakepunk 01-23-2004 6:16 PM

Tommyc - I've seen Derek ride, he rips. I hear he is going out to ride with Anthony Racinelli at the River this spring, he'll get a lot of great water time there!

craigger 01-24-2004 11:30 AM

geoff-

Thanks alot its amazing

wakehype 01-24-2004 1:11 PM

Didnt he used to ride with Ian Kirk at Ensane Wakeboard School before he went out and started WestCoastCamps?

tommyc 01-24-2004 1:50 PM

Jeff-I just bought my son tickets to go and see Anthony in Feb. He says he going to teach him how to hit sliders. If I know Anthony, he will beat it into him.

solo 01-24-2004 9:38 PM

Sweet Vid Arun!

socalwakepunk 01-25-2004 11:49 AM

Yeah, I could see Anthony coaching a H.S. football team. He really (I mean REALLY) loves the sport, and just wants to help people to ride better. Hell of a nice guy.

teamvaldez 01-25-2004 2:45 PM

Hey Tom!! havn't seen you guys since Indy, how is everybody? Will we be seeing you at the Canyon Lake series this year? (I hear they changed mngmt at the Canyon Lake Inn) LOL!!

tommyc 01-25-2004 4:00 PM

Oh yeh...the canyon lake inn. no hot water and no toilet paper. cant wait to go back. we are going to try to come at least 3 times this year. hope to see you soon. whos going to announce the tourneys?

socalwakepunk 01-25-2004 4:38 PM

Probably me...again. (Henry was an awesome middle reliever last year)

socalwakepunk 01-25-2004 4:42 PM

BTW - If you don't mind, I always have plenty of sofa and floor space available. It's really cheap, and I always purchase the institutional size package of toilet paper (you never know). Also, I try to take the Fridays before the comps, ride the backwater.

(Message edited by socalwakepunk on January 25, 2004)

teamvaldez 01-25-2004 4:54 PM
