Any suggestions? I've never been there but want to check it out on a weekend trip sometime this summer.

Never thought id see a thread about lake almanor. Let me first start off by saying that this lake is amazing, i go once every year to visit my grandma who lives close to the lake and we camp in the PG & E campground called rocky point campground (we think its the best). The sites are very clean, right on the water and you are able to have your boat right off shore. Being that i live in socal and the drive is close to 10 hours, i have yet to make it up there this year so im not sure if anything has changed but am plannin on headin up there mid July

I grew up in susanville which is like 30 min from the lake, Joshua is right Rocky point campground is the best campground in my opinion, i go every yr with my best friends, the only downside is that the lake is up and down for riding conditions, but if your camping and your boat is right there, you can get up early and get that morning butter! or hit the evening butter as well.
