Need Help w/ Overhead Hoist for New Boat House

We just built a new boat house, and we're trying to decide if we should buy a kit for our overhead boat lift, or if we should just build our own? Can you use a sling type system with a v drive, or should you stick with a cradle? The cradle is more expensive, but thats the way Im leaning. Does anyone have a website which carries all the parts at a decent price? We're located in Central FL. Thanks for the help.

On Line - Boat Lift Warehouse or Boat Lift Distributors.

craddle is definately the way to go if you can. Straps will work, but they will compress the boat over time.

here 's an old pic of my boat house right after construction.

I had the straps before we recently got a craddle last summer.
The straps make it easier to get to the bottom of your boat but they do compress the boat amd will leave marks on the side. When my boat would be on the lift with straps, I couldn't open the walk thru window to get to the bow. Also another bad thing is placing the staps under the boat. I have an 05 Wakesetter and I have the lift gate on my patform for the wedge, so putting it on the hoist wasn't to bad it was just a pain to have to hold the strap behind the rudder. If you didnt have the gate like on malibu's, idk how you would hoist it up?

A craddle is the way to go. It is easier to pick the boat up and you can operate it by yourself for the most part. With the straps it took two ppl and was a pain. Just my two cents but my dad was big on straps but now that we have the craddle he would never go back.
