The end of the year Wakeboarding Magazine is in and I'm very impressed with the amount of content in this issue. They do a huge review of the boats available. IMO, this is one of the best editions ever. Check it out, I couldnt put it down last night....Great Job, Guys...

(Message edited by byrd on December 21, 2006)

Got mine last week sometime. i do agree very good issue. The boat section seemed to be shorter to last years issue, which i think is good as the whole mag isnt filled with just boats.

did find the murray thing a bit weird, as he lives in florida and had a thick wetsuit on, and did an article to stay riding during the winter, but in florida the weather in their winter is like are summer.
|
Toby...when you libe in FLA, you get change in temperature just like we do here in the north. For those of us who see snow in the winter, 55-60-70 and sun seems great, but when you live there it feels cold. Go to OWC in February like we do...we're practically the only ones in trunks and no top.

Eric

Hey Doug Merry late Christmas, Good shot off the OH'Ryan 9.
|
The boat reviews were great in this issue. However, I thought last years boat reviews were better. They had a wake shape chart as well. Still a great issue, but I wouldn't put it as the BEST ever issue. Again, a great issue nonetheless.
|
Not to bash, but I found the 2 page Ad for Correct Craft's 2007 210 to be really funny. All of the riders saying how the wake still maintains the pop of the old 210...yea right.
|
I liked the Jet Pilot ad with big panoramic shot of Schwenne riding among the battleships out at Benicia Bay. I've driven past that place so many times and always had the fantasy of wakeboarding down around the "battleship graveyard." I always figured there would be patrols to keep people out, not sure how they pulled it off, but great photo, and huge ups to Mike for pulling in the big Jet Pilot spread.

Nice shot Brinks!

I couldn't wait to read this issue after this thread. Got it yesterday, and like everything in this industry, I feel the victim of too much hype.

Last year's boat review got the closest I've ever seen to fairly quantifying the difference between wakes. This year, the review was the worst I've seen in years. I'm afraid a WBM review is about as helpful as a boot or binding review on this site. A little too much love to take seriously . . .

WBM Volume 15, Issue 1 is optional reading if you are looking for anything helpful.

If you had a really good review you wouldn't have much else as far as content. I thought it was interesting that the x45 is in and the x2 is not in the mag. Correct craft has all their boats and both malibu and supra have a pretty good representation of their lineups. I think it gives you a picture of the direction of the boat company, but by no means is it a basis for making a purchase without going to a show or dealer and taking a test ride.
