Well I was over at a buddies house and he was telling me of a cousin or cousin's cousin that was a really good wakeskater. Well he said they we're riding behind a X-Star and that he was throwing back flips and tantrums on a wakeskate and landing them. I just sat there and nodded and seemed amazed. My question is are there any pros out here that are throwing inverts and landing them? It seems to me from my limited skating ability that it would be a very difficult trick to do and land. I'm just curious to see if there is anyone out there that is doing them. I'm a little skeptical of the story.

Ask them this serious question....Know anything about physics? That would not be possible w/o the board attached in some way, which would not be skating.

christopher 08-01-2007 8:11 PM

I did but he tried to tell me that he was grabbing it and letting go right before he landed. That is what made me question it. It would be extremely difficult to reach down and grab the skate and start the rotation at the same time. I'm calling BS but I would like to know if ANYONE can do them?

i guess if u cut in holding the board it wuld work.but ide rather see a lipslide than a flip.keep skating skating and boarding boarding.

jsimpson7 08-06-2007 4:55 AM

it is totally possible. it is the same principle as skateboarding.

goatroper222000 08-06-2007 6:38 AM

I dont wkskt but i did see ryan sheckler do a backflip a couple years ago on the Dew Tour.

ticktock 08-07-2007 10:06 PM

its definitely possible but really difficult. there is one guy doin tantrum dock starts with a wakeskate

bbking 08-08-2007 2:35 PM

thats what we call a shawkboard!

wakesk8wannabe 08-09-2007 2:56 AM

it's definitively possible. you can do flips on a skateboard. i've taken physics. either you would have to grab the board, or there would have to be a decent amount of friction to get it going. so while extremely difficult, the laws of physics would permit it.

goatroper222000 08-09-2007 7:33 AM

Although Sheckler can flip a skateboard,

Chuck Norris is the only one who can do inverts on a wakeskate.

Sorry that didnt work, here is the only backroll on a wakeskate that i have ever seen.

http://www.mywake.tv/viewVideo.php?video_id=213&title=Wakeskate_Bac k_Flip&vpkey=98a37c0f09

goatroper222000 08-09-2007 4:05 PM

Yes..but this is the only REAL invert that can be done on a wakeskate.

dlwsrider 08-26-2007 6:16 PM

The only person who has done a true invert is brandon thomas, he did one riding cable off a kicker a few years ago

goatroper222000 08-28-2007 5:28 PM

Invert on a skate, huh? You kids should just stick to wakeboarding.

tyboarder03 09-06-2007 6:12 PM

Just seems like inverts are for snowboards and wakeboards if you try to impersonate wakeboarding on a wakeskate... then whats the point really. Aren't they two different sports?

Robin- That's cool and all... but it looks hideous compared to a big tantrum on a board.

robin_holland 09-12-2007 10:36 AM

Yes I agree with you, but I think he earns respect because he slide with one board over the kicker, than trows the Tantrum and landed it on another board who was already in his hand. And that is really sick haha

kampus96 09-12-2007 9:10 PM

wow.quite possibly the gayest thing ive seen.whose up for a raley?

ticktock 09-18-2007 8:56 PM

yeah they are two different sports. but by that logic...everytime you spin on a wakeskate you are impersonating wakeboarding or skateboarding. but a backflip that is done on wakeboards and skateboards should not be done on a wakeskate?

props to brandon

09-23-2007 10:43 PM

grant: hahaha

kornhouse 11-03-2007 8:20 PM

brandom thomas did a backroll off a kicker at o dub a few years ago

kornhouse 11-03-2007 8:20 PM

brandon*^^^^

wakeskateal 11-17-2007 9:18 AM

brandon thomas jumped off one wakeskate with another in his hand and did a backflip...one of the stupidest tricks ever done on a wakeskate, even he doesnt claim it..the day somone does a invert is the day ill quite wakeskating and go back to wakeboarding..scratch that.. ill start waterskiing
