some are concave and some are flat

let's here it for indie brands. the springfield malibu dealer (ski shack) graciously sold me a (heavily) used 2003 kampus (either the 7-ply or 9-ply, something with the blue graphics) two years ago and the skateboard children of my friends had the time of their lives on that skate (as did the adults). this year at the kc boat show in january i picked up the sst. to date, we aren't quite sure how to react to it. the sst's like a platter. it be difficult to edge. the kampus carves. it's small, twitchy, but can be man- (person?, foot?) handled with effect. cost? kampus, $40. sst? not priceless

what you pay is what you get, bought a LF faction for 100 bucks to start out, came completely apart after 7 rides. Ill spend more money on a skate next time that isnt wood

skateonwater564 10-21-2008 10:47 PM

durability, concave, material used, and how good the skate is. cheaper ones tend to be a bit worse. not always though

Kampus FTW ! ! ! Those skates were sick. New makes very good quality skates at a really decent price. Moxilla what brand skates are you looking at ? I'm currently riding a New Mogley, and I switch it up between 2 Devotid boards an old Union bi level and a Passion bi level they're all sick boards.

"shape and durability"

That, plus they are normally weighted alot better.

treycleaton 10-26-2008 7:07 PM

mattW, just because it's wood doesn't mean it will fall apart. Stay away from LF and check out Oak, Sattelyte or Devotid

wakemitch 10-26-2008 8:16 PM

dont count out wood. sattelyte makes the strongest wood decks out there. amazing shape and has a pbt base which is the same material integrity uses on their base.

NEW ! ! ! ! ! ! All The Way ! ! ! ! ! Seriously though you can't go wrong with any Oak, Sattelyte, Devotid, or New skate they're all Da Bomb

(Message edited by lovin_the_wake on October 29, 2008)
