2018 Hyperlite Murray
Hi all,
I have posted on a couple other threads but thought I may as well just make a new thread because the others are so old. Essentially I want to get into wakeboarding (boat) properly and the Murray is the board I am going to go with. I weigh 160-163 pounds and I am 5”8 or 172cm. The only deals I can find are on 139 Murray’s. My question is should I just go for it, or wait around for a 2019 144? To wait around there should be a substantial benefit for someone if my weight to go 144...if both will be good I might as well get the 139 now. I note that the surface area of the 139 is 832” which is about the same as a 142 ronix timebomb. Cheers Tyler |
The bigger board is nice, for various of reasons. But you can ride the smaller one with no problems. The Murray boards always feel bigger than they say. So the 139 will feel very similar to that Ronix. I would buy the Murray.

I am 5’10” 185 and ride a 139 Murray. I love it. Most would say I should ride bigger but if feels just right for me. Hold speed well and pops great, the rounded edge between the feet make it forgiving on some sketchy landings. You can’t go wrong with the Murray.

Went and bought the 139 with liquid force Harley shoes. Keen to get out on the water but gotta wait for my concussion to go away!

Having the same debate. I’m 180 lbs and wondering if I should go 145 or 150?

For boat? I think 139 is perfect for you.
I am the same height and weight, and I ride an AR2 139. It's a great length for me. I ride a longer board on Cable, but behind boat this one is a beaut. |

Likely you were replying to the OP I think? For me, I already have a 2010 Ronix One in 138 that I’ll likely keep so possibly will get the larger board just to have options. |
