Final cut pro is great

I just bought Magix Edit Pro 17 for my PC. Probably the worst program I have ever bought. Instructions are horrible. Crashes. Loses files. Then got onto their info board - see the complaints and problems. I wish I had seen that before I bought it because with the number of basic problems people are having with it I would have not bought it.

I use final cut pro and its the bomb!, but final cut express is fairly cheap and extremely similar!if you dont have a mac i would suggest sony vegas because it is fairly cheap compared to premier pro, but if you have the money go with premier pro

MAC: final cut pro
PC: premier

if your on a budget
MAC: final cut express
PC: sony vegas

Back when I got my camera, the only software that could edit the AVCHD footy it shot was Vegas. So I edit on that pretty much exclusively while playing around with motion graphics on after effects.

Just can't seem to bring myself to learn Premiere. Vegas is a little simpler, and doesn't have quite as many features, but for just straight video editing it works really well. It has a fairly different interface from Premiere or FInal Cut though, so if you want to be more up to date with the industry standard, I'd recommend against vegas...
