what wakeboard coach do you recommend in Orlando? I am looking for an awesome coach I can work with once a week and one that will push me to my limits and stick with me for a couple of years if i like the instruction.

Maggie, stop by O'town and talk with Glen, let him know what your goals are, take a set with him and let him be the judge. He will be straight up with you. Good luck & have fun.

premier141dna 01-22-2008 3:54 PM

the projects is awesome, three lakes..one gianormous rail park and a bunch of great coaches. pros stop by there all the time..to sesh the rail park or work with pat.

bmartin 01-22-2008 4:06 PM

I have no idea what your riding is like or your specific goals, but you might consider working your way into a 'core' crew that pushes it hard. Depending on who you ride with, you can get quality 'free' instruction from a lot of riders up through basic inverts. I know I like having dependable regulars with gas money in hand to jump in my boat.

wakesnow1 01-22-2008 5:20 PM

i dont know what level you ride but try Dave Briscoe www.thewakeboardcoach.com

wakeriderixi 01-22-2008 5:44 PM

Check out Sean O'brien at www.orlandowake.com ! He is amazing, to watch and learn from!

maggiewss 01-22-2008 7:29 PM

lauren harf!

wkbrd 01-23-2008 9:16 AM

Maggie- Try Ryan Jones. He does on the water and off water training with a tramp. Everyone has their own preferences but he is very good. I know several riders that work with him and they are amazing. he coaches a 9 year old girl that has several inverts already.

waketrix101 01-23-2008 9:56 AM

Have you met up with any of the UCF riders? There seems to be a huge stable of top riders that go there.

maggiewss 01-25-2008 4:21 AM

yeah im one of them starting this semester..

ryanjones 01-25-2008 6:47 AM

Maggie,

I would be more than happy to give you a head start. I own a gym in orlando florida with all of the mats to cushions you as you learn new wakeboard tricks. What i do is start you in the gym, where we break tricks down into steps. We can cover everything at the gym from; line tension, edging, air awareness, and where your eyes should look at each part of a trick. Then we work on the steps in order to make each trick controllable. When the steps are in order, we strap on the Guru tramp boards to complete the last step of transfering what we learn in the gym to the water. I work with most of couches in orlando. I am not going to name drop but, I work with a lot of the coaches listed here, ask who ever you choose if they work with me. What we do is almost cheating... It is so easy to learn new tricks and stay safe working on the trampoline. On the trampoline we can practice each trick 50 times. Then take it to the water. This way line tension, when to pull on the rope, all of the questions you have get answered over mats. When we take tricks to the water for the first time. We plan on and are prepared to land the trick on the first time. Visit our website for more info: thentrampplace.com.

mikemcmill 01-25-2008 8:50 AM

awwe thanks gerry! I think you're just a great athlete!

rnopr8 01-25-2008 9:16 AM

clearlakescott 01-25-2008 4:08 PM

WOW apparently maggie thinks she is a top rider

clearlakescott 01-27-2008 9:41 AM

You should go work with ryan at the tramp place. He has a ton of knowledge/tips that will help you build your fundamental skills and of course work from there.
