Oh my god... <BR> <BR>I have always wondered about those narrow (yet always calm) riding locations. Now I know that my nightmares can come true. Thank goodness he is ok.

What a dumb arse! Easily could have been killed. When will people learn that the earth doesn't flinch! I learned that real fast while skydiving.

Ugh. I just noticed that the riding location wasn't narrow. <BR> <BR>Bad decision on the part of the driver, and the rider ....sort of. <BR> <BR>The driver is basically in charge of operations on my boat - even if I'm riding, the driver is still in charge. In this case the driver was too close to the rocks - and that fella could have had his head smashed. Kind of gives me chills. I am glad he's ok.

I'll admit that I too have put a board into rocks along a bank carying a little too much speed after a TS180 in a tight spot. Just a few nicks on the board but my back was bruised pretty good. The rocks were submerged but I knew they were there. I do not fault the driver because I knew it was tight but did the jump anyway. <BR> <BR>If the rider is experienced, I think most of the culpability lies with the rider....you know "look before you leap". In the video, the rider would be able to clearly see that huge pile of rocks. Yeah the driver shouldn't put the rider in danger but we don't know if he had to take that path to avoid another boat or something else.

That reminds me of Josh Sanders down at OWC for the 2005 or 6 PWT when he did a 313 and slid into the rock divider. Wasn't that gnarly though

Maybe this was a setup approach for something? Maybe there was a pile of rocks he was gonna olley or a buoy up ahead. Could be lots of stuff. The rider has to notice that he was on top of the jagged shore line, my guess is it was a pre planned approach and a submerged rock just came up and bit him.

I'm with 'atthelake'. If it is an experienced rider and/or they know the surroundings. I grew up riding in bayous that sometimes had very tight turn arounds, tight enough that the rider could not cut out an inch. I know that I'm in control of where I go behind the boat and that if the boat is doing something I don't like... I let go.
