Hey guys, time to replace my 6.5s and I'm on a budget of about $300 for all 4. My boat sits in the water covered, do I need to go with marine lines, or based on current manufaturing of car speakers being mostly rubber, should I be okay with car stereo grade? Can you guys shoot me some links on Best Buy's website that you would recomend? I have gift cards for them...

Thanks!

Car audio will be fine with the materials they use nowadays. Marine speakers that I have heard just lack in sound quality for some reason. There may be some new out that I have'nt heard yet. Look into Wetsounds they're always coming out with new stuff.

I just got Kickers KMT6's and I think they are great and should fit in your budget.

I like the oversized XS-650s. That or the Polks, people seem to swear by the db651s.

love my db651s. just excellent.

I think people are posting db651 with the "s" as in plural. Note there are db651 and db651S, the S denotes the shallow version. I recommend the db651 not the S versions. I think the db651 sound a tad better (more full) than the MM650 momo's. Most with poly cones will work fine.

If you must get them from BestBuy my choice would be: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=8210955&type=product&id= 1166234894507

Note the 2 ohm impedence, this will likely require a slightly different wiring configuration than a standard 4 ohm speaker.

Mike, the 650's aren't 2 ohm, but they're anywhere from 3.3 to 3.7, from what I've found. That requires a slightly different wiring configuration also. Just wanted to throw that out there since those speakers were also mentioned.
