guido 01-19-2009 3:26 PM

Bummer... Get well soon, Anna.

wakeboardmatt 01-19-2009 3:34 PM

Confirm.
Out six months.
Last night she told me torn acl and mcl, contusions on her femur and tibia.

wkbrd 01-19-2009 4:56 PM

How did she do that?

wakeboardmatt 01-19-2009 5:11 PM

Front roll she said.

teamvaldez 01-20-2009 6:24 AM

I had heard that the time frame out was changed to three months. (hope so) she has been absolutely killing it!!

hawkeye7708 01-20-2009 6:55 AM

Get well soon!

dadthedriver 01-20-2009 7:37 AM

Heard that she will be able to ride at wakegames in April.

andy_nintzel 01-20-2009 7:51 AM

BUMMMMERRRRRRRRRRRRRRrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

reckless 01-20-2009 10:28 AM

Thank you guys, yeah i messed up my knee on a front roll, i cant wait to ride and hope to see you guys at wake games!

wakebrdmom 01-20-2009 11:12 AM

Anna, how can you ride after an ACL tear in 3 months? Is it a partial requiring no surgery? Just curious. Most people are out at least 6 months.

reckless 01-20-2009 11:56 AM

Word from my doctor is 3-4 months.

bbr 01-20-2009 12:15 PM

Anna, I wish you the best of luck. About the worst thing you can do would be to come back too soon. I know when I blew my knee out it was about 6 months, and even then, I was sketched.

fly135 01-20-2009 12:17 PM

Good luck on your recovery Anna!

sidekicknicholas 01-20-2009 12:47 PM

Least she still has Blue Crush.

reckless 01-20-2009 2:38 PM

Hahaha yeah nick I watch it like every night.

sidekicknicholas 01-20-2009 2:39 PM

Well, we're back in Wisconsin so I cannot ride either, if that helps.

reckless 01-20-2009 8:40 PM

yeah that makes me feel a little bit better hahah i went to the cable today to watch my friend ride and it was so windy and cold it felt great haha joking.

sidekicknicholas 01-21-2009 12:01 PM

When we left it was freeeeeezing.
Surgery tomorrow correct?.... Good Luck!!!

reckless 01-21-2009 3:52 PM

yup its tomorrow. thanks!

shaun_murray 01-21-2009 5:52 PM

you'll be back in no time Anna. Glad to have you on the team.

reckless 01-24-2009 9:07 AM

thanks shaun.
well when i got my mri we couldnt really tell %100 percent sure what exactly was wrong with it because there was so much blood in my knee at the time, but after the surgery the doctor said i tore my acl, stretched my mcl, and tore my miniscus, im pretty bummed about it because after i got the mri the doctor said i wasnt going to be out for that long but the time frame has definetly changed now.

parkgirl 01-24-2009 9:45 AM

Hey Anna,

Sorry to hear about your knee, I did the exact same thing and getting surgery in a week. How did your surgery go?

reckless 01-24-2009 9:55 AM

ooh no way! well im going to warn you now that it is the most painful thing ever! no one warned me that it was going to hurt this bad but ive been in the worst pain ever, the 3rd day after surgery is the best because you get to take the bandages off and at the point your knee barley hurts for a little bit.

surgery went smooth though.

parkgirl 01-24-2009 10:02 AM

Sweet, can't wait! (Actually I'm SO ready to get it done and start healing.)

Glad it went well, and that it's not hurting as bad anymore.

unclejessie 01-24-2009 1:52 PM

Andrea... sorry to hear about your ACL!!! That sucks... Make sure you do some good rehab before hitting the wake again.

If you major meniscus damage, (like I did) talk to your doc about braces that will protect the damaged area. They are called OA braces. If I had started using mine years ago, my knee would be much better than it is now. The OA braces also secure the knee for ACL injuries.

-Uj

reckless 01-24-2009 2:59 PM

my friend let me use her ice maker thing the doctor gave her and that also helped out my knee sooo much.

liquidmx 01-24-2009 5:50 PM

Yup, I kept the ice machine on mine 24/7 for the first 72 hrs + elevation or in the ROM machine. I had very little swelling and got my ROM faster back than most...according to the PT. That machine was a lifesaver for sure!
