I just started wakeboarding last summer and have decided that it is time to buy my own board. The problem is that I have no idea where to start. I am 6’ tall and weigh 170lbs. I am looking for a board that will be stable, give a good pop off the wake and have a soft forgiving landing. My technique needs a lot of work and I struggle getting in the air. What specs should I look for in a board? Do you have any suggestion on a set of bindings? Thanks!

I second Harry's board recommendation. I bought an 03 HL Premier and my riding has progressed considerably. I have been riding for about 4 years and everything started coming together on the Premier.

As far as bindings go, it is all in what's comfortable for you. I wear a size 13 and I have really wide feet. I wear XL LF Exos, but I have ridden XL HL Parks and really liked them. With the Parks though, my feet slip out the end too easy, plus the whole tearing thing. If I were buying new bindings right now, I would seriously be considering the LF Alphas, just my opinion.

Jb

What about a CWB Sol 139 w/ a pair of Torq bindings. I can get them both brand new for $279. I am a little light on cash. Does this seem like a good deal? Good board?

Yeah the Sol is a good beginner board but when you get a little better you might want a better board (ex. absolute ) . I would honestly get the boss bindings if you had the cash with that board so if you decide to get a new board in a few years you can stick to the bindings you had.
