I really want to foil this year and have a chance to purchase a new Sky Ski foil for 1k. It's a great deal, but my wife thinks it's just another toy that can wait a few years. I'm trying to bring it up every few days...but...

And no, buying it and dealing with the consequences later on this one is not an option.

I'm a little on your wife's side
If you're sick of wakeboarding try to master the wakeskate. That should keep you busy for a while

Is that a deal at a shop or a one time deal? I know someone that wants one.

Daniel,I'm in the same boat.Wakeboarding is starting to be hard on my old knees.A friend of mine has a foil & is willing to help me get started...but I get the same answer from the war dept. ....."you don't need to spend another $1k on another boat toy!"If you figure out a way,let me know.
She is usually really cool about me buying new toys, but for some reason, she's not with this.I think it's because my friend has been k.o.'d twice on his foil.

My mom can ride the sky ski and she is almost 50. Maybe if they (the wives) try it and like it then it could seem more feasible to them to spend the cash.

trade the wife in for one that likes water sports as much as you do!

Tell her either 1k for the sky ski or 2k+ minimum for knee surgery.

dakid 05-09-2007 7:59 PM

maybe she doesn't want you to get one 'cause she doesn't want you to be "old."

There are many reasons. I've tried the knee surgery thing..."Then sell your wakeboard" "Your friend has a Sky Ski, you can borrow his."

I'm not sick of wakeboarding, just trying to make sure I can do something else besides wakeboarding. If I wreck my knee, I won't make any money.

It's a friend of mine that has the foil.

Oh, and my wife won't get into the water unless it's to swim...No watersports for her. And trading in is out of the question =)
