whats sad is ive kept up this list ofr several years lol. constantly adding/updating.

I've always wondered. It'd be cool to have a comparative list from about 04 up until now. It'd be super cool to see the cross brand weights as well as intra-company technological improvement over the years. Way to be on that.

do you have more board weights

greenbass86 01-21-2011 7:41 PM

good idea, if someone has a few minutes to kill they should add the weight of their board onto this thread, then one of the mods could always go back and edit the first post adding the board weight to the first post, maybe put it in alphabetical order. that way in case anyone is ever wondering boom they can find it right here. Just a thought., heck I'll probably weight my board now when I get home.

I know that at least one of the companies has told me that they do not like to list the board weights because standard foam cores can be a little inconsistent causing the board weight to fluctuate. They found that if they publish a particular weight, people would complain if their board was a few ounce over the advertised weight.

I'll play

David, you are 100% right about publishing weights, but I am at the house with butter outside and on babysiting duty.

It could be a fun little FYI. I have several in the shed that I will weigh up.

Okay, my scale has some limitations, but it provided some interesting results.

2009 138 Severance
2009 142 Severance
2009 139 Recruit
2008 54" Monarch
2007 136 Witness
Were all within a half pound

2008 143 CSV1
2008 138 CSV1
Was a half pound lighter

2010 144 Ibex (P-tex Base)
Was 1 pound heavier

I'll post mine this week :) :)

In my experience, it's the bindings that account for the majority of the weight, especially wet bindings. When I upgraded my boots to 2010 Ronix Relics, I couldn't believe the difference. Feels like half the weight of second year closed toe Shanes with the same board. It hasn't done anything for my riding, but a lot easier to haul around.
