I have the 06 watson handle(harder then a rock) and the black widow line which sinks ... is the anything i can put on the line that will make it float... NEVER BUY THIS SET UP ITS HORRIBLE

guido 08-21-2006 12:31 PM

I've got the same problem right now with my set-up. I was thinking some of those red/white fishing bobbers should do the trick.... LOL.

Maybe you could inject that spray foam for sealing around windows/etc from home depot into the handle.

I've tried the spray foam on my Proline LG handle and it still sinks like a rock. I'm not sure what other alternatives you have.

Jon where in SoCal are you? I have some extra floats that you can put on to help it float, they are not from Liquid Force but it will help. If not you can contact the place you bought it and see if they have any line floats.

what is the draw back to letting it sink? when you give it to the rider it stays on top of the water, and when you are done, no one runs over it, it doesn't get caught up under the boat if you float over it.

bigrich 08-21-2006 12:40 PM

Justin the draw back is getting it hung up on something under water unless you are sure it is always deeper than lets say 70 feet.

eubanks01 08-21-2006 12:41 PM

The problem with letting it sink is that you run over it! I've never ridden without a floating handle in 13 years of wakeboarding and had yet to see a line get run over. My first weekend using a handle that didn't float recently...bye-bye rope!

i can deal with the line sinking i was just wondering if there was something out there... alsoi would much rather find something to soften up the handle... prolly just going to buy another one, cause im not a fan over gloves, Chris im in the riverside area

Jon if your willing to drive to Murrieta I have Proline Handle floats. Sorry nothing to soften the Handle.

Find some foam and tape it or glue it to the rope, or if funds are really low theres always those noodles and ductape.

wow... carson full of jokes huh

aden_g 08-21-2006 3:37 PM

a handle/line that sinks. classic.

There are those big bulky cylinders of foam that come on some handles and people rip off.. any access to a couple of those? They would help, if you can find a place to put them (never seen the handle).

In other news, I love my Straight Line Carbon

bdaddy 08-22-2006 12:37 PM

Try some of those foam BMX handle bar protectors. You can cut them to size, they come with the velcro nylon cover that will hold them in place and they are cheap at target or walmart. If you want really cheap go to homedepot and buy that foam you put around hot water lines and some duct tape.

meyerb 08-22-2006 2:42 PM

Outdoor pipe insulation may float and it is not bulky. Lots of different sizes.

breadbutta 08-22-2006 2:46 PM

Get rid of it, it's just a matter of time before its stuck in the prop.

jwr 08-22-2006 8:10 PM

Dude, i've ridden a sinking handle all season, and all you gotta do is pay attention

aden_g 08-22-2006 9:04 PM

Justin, sounds like an unnecessary inconvenience to me. I'd rather just have a floating handle
