I just recently purchased an 06 malibu v-ride and it has the teak platform on it. I was wondering how I should take care of the wood? It will be stored for close to four months for the winter. Is there anything special that I need to do to it for the winter? What about during the summer?<img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/65921/394613.jpg" alt="Upload">

If it is new, it should already be oiled and you can just keep it covered. Otherwise, if it is not in good shape, then sand it where needed and then oil it. Oil both sides. Nice looking boat!

Thanks for the comment. Yeah the boat is new but the Teak doesn't look like it has been oiled in a while. How many times should I oil it during the year

If its staying outside for the winter I reccomend just taking it off and throwing it in your garage. Then it isn't exposed to anything, and you can do any sanding/oiling necessary over the winter off season right at home...

I always take mine off (boat is 2' shorter without it), oil it and store it in the basement or garage.
