<img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/65921/455052.jpg" alt="Upload"> <BR>Has anyone used the Hull Hugr fenders from Kwik Tec? <BR>I'm looking at ordering some but have not seen them in real life nor talked to anyone that uses them. <BR>They LOOK like they would be easy to store and really useful but I'd rather hear that from someone who tried them. Thanks guys.

I've used the full size hull hug'r fender that folds up like a brief case for many years. That is the best Houseboat fender I haver ever seen. The smaller ones work very well also, but for the cost, I still use the standard poly fenders for tying up at smaller docks. <BR> <BR><img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/65921/455166.jpg" alt="Upload">

Hey Art IMO it depends on how you are gonna use them. If you are just pulling up to a dock then I think they will work fine because you dont need the space a traditional fender will give you when you tie up to other boats. <BR>Example: "IF" you tie up to another boat IMO your best friend is space or thickness of the fender. (size matters)<img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/clipart/happy.gif" border=0> the further your boat is away from the other boat the less likely your boat is gonna get dammaged. The thinner fenders put your boats closer together making it easyer for them to touch. <BR>I just got new fenders for my boat. They are just a bit thicker then my old ones. I noticed a big differance with the extra thickenss. My boat dosent come as close to the other boat when we tie up leaving more room for both boats to rock back and forth and when both boats have towers and racks a extra inc makes the differance between them hitting or not. If your just tieing up to a dock with no other boats then IMO thoes would work perfict.

art, it also depends on how low your freeboard is. On my last boat which was a ski boat it sat to low in the water and for them to work the way they are supposed to they would end up hitting the water and drifting around. They are fairly long. On my ski boat I had to have them pulled up pretty far and have excess bumper going into my boat. <BR> <BR>I like big round bumpers easy to use and provide alot of space between boats.

Nate, I hadn't thought about the length below my rub rail. Now I'll go measure it and make some guesses as to the length of fender below the bend. <BR>Grant, I almost always tie to docks but they're all different heights. I may have to carry a couple of normal fenders too, assuming I even get these. <BR>It's nice to go on here and get different insights. <img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/65921/456205.gif" alt="Upload">

"hippity hops" or kids hopping balls from toys-r-us, or your favorite childrens toy store IMO are the best fenders out there, the are cheap, can easily be deflated for storage, and hold your boat further away than conventional fenders. I call em "Blue Balls" <BR><img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/65921/457163.jpg" alt="Upload">

The hull hugger's work great. We have 8 of them in our boat.
