So this is just to see who the alltime best wakeboarder is, and please, don't lie. <BR> <BR>So say you have a new "friend" that has never heard of wakeboarding, but thinks its the stupidest, weakest, worst, whatever... sport, you can show them three clips from any movies of any ONE rider [no multiple rider scenes], what movie and riders would it be? [pick three] and also choose one picture of one rider doin a trick that would rep wakeboardin good to this "friend". <BR> <BR>I'll go first; <BR> <BR>1] Kieth Lyman; The Butter Effect <BR>2] Danny Harf; Boombox <BR>3] Parks Bonifay; Free 4 All <BR> <BR>Danny Harf; Alliance Wake; Huge Inverted Crail

"So this is just to see who the alltime best wakeboarder is" <BR> <BR>Alltime best? That's a pretty subjective title. There really isn't one "all time best" wakeboarder. That being said, your 3 choices above would all make my list. Those are all awesome video sections. Great editing, great music, great riding.

ralph 05-29-2007 12:00 AM

1] Randy Harris - NBT <BR>2] Parks - 12 Honkeys <BR>3] Rusty - Bent Felix <BR>4] Benny G - Butter Effect

wakeriderixi 05-29-2007 12:26 AM

Not chiming in on the real thread but to 'Darren Yearsley' I would like to ask if you've seen The Truth yet... Only because I think Greenwood has the most amazing section in that video pretty much because of the trashcan on the tube. That was AMAZING!

ralph 05-29-2007 12:35 AM

Yes I have the truth, yes it is phat. Pretty much a toss up between that, butter, bent and MySide, all Benny's sections are awesome.

Here are a few more videos that are worth watching since we are talking about favorite riders, one of mine being Sean Obrien: <a href="http://wakeworld.com/Galleries/GetImage.asp?GalleryID=300&amp;ImageID=35" target="_blank">http://wakeworld.com/Galleries/GetImage.asp?GalleryID=300&amp;ImageID=35</a> <BR><a href="http://wakeworld.com/Galleries/GetImage.asp?GalleryID=178&amp;ImageID=30" target="_blank">http://wakeworld.com/Galleries/GetImage.asp?GalleryID=178&amp;ImageID=30</a> <BR><a href="http://wakeworld.com/Galleries/GetImage.asp?GalleryID=178&amp;ImageID=29" target="_blank">http://wakeworld.com/Galleries/GetImage.asp?GalleryID=178&amp;ImageID=29</a> <BR> <BR>As far as my list of three: <BR>1)Any clip of the Vandall, but if I have to choose NBT <BR>2)Any clip of Lyman <BR>3)Any clip of Necrason (the fact that they have to film the guy from a helicopter says something about how big he goes) <BR>I think that will give just about anybody an idea of what is possible on a wakeboard. After they get into it, I try to point out the intricacies of each rider and their style.

swami 05-29-2007 7:04 AM

I gotta say <BR>Garcia and Fooshee. Great riders, great buds. <BR> <BR>That's my definition of "favorite rider" <BR> <BR>Favorite Rider and Best Rider aren't the same thing.

Murray and parks. I don't know what videos though. I think that they are the best two wakeboarders so far.

05-30-2007 9:26 PM

JD webb, Ike and Kevin Henshaw, after meeting all 3 and hanging out with all three at Wakestock in Toronto the last 2 yrs. All super nice guys and willing to chat, and accepting beer that i buy them is usually a great way to start a conversation.

Parks-shafted...I WIN

lseghatch 05-31-2007 9:07 AM

Keith Lyman hands down.

clay_fraley 05-31-2007 9:19 AM

My top three: <BR> <BR>1) Lyman - The Truth <BR>2) Murray - All or Nothing <BR>3) Gerry Nunn - 12 Honkeys <BR> <BR>I have a million more faves, most of which are of Lyman or Ben Greenwood but these are the first three that came to mind

eas 05-31-2007 9:30 AM

I'm not sure I have a top three....haven't seen too many of the new vids...but if you were going to introduce someone to wakeboarding (or show someone for the first time), Randall's section in NBT is my choice....the music...and the simplicity of the absolute hugeness at which he rides in that section are sick. I think some of the vids show such technical work that it's hard for the unfamiliar to appreciate...they always tell me that all the tricks look the same. Anyone else get this from newbies?

eas 05-31-2007 9:31 AM

sorry...having said that...I like watching Lyman right now. he's going so big...

jjakober 05-31-2007 10:11 AM

That Hansel is so hot right now!... <BR> <BR>and Sean Obrien, Randy Harris, and Murray.

dfxr58 05-31-2007 6:44 PM

if i am not mistaken, there is a section of byerly at the end of retrospect that is kind of a short history of wakeboarding. for the history aspect, i would have to put that as number one. so here it goes: <BR> <BR>1.) byerly's final section in retrospect; gotta know the history <BR>2.) randy in thrillaz; self explanitory <BR>3.) murray in counterfit this; the man has a passion for wakeboarding and shows it when he rides <BR> <BR>as for a picture, i would probably want to show them a still shot of randy going huge off the double up in thrillaz. the sport takes balls.

Bonifay's and Shiparo, Nunn..Lavelle! <BR>Anything old school...Nothing new school, although those young whipper snappers can ride like sonavabitches...Let's see em' do it behind an outboard without the weight or flyhigh's<img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/clipart/uhoh.gif" border=0><img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/clipart/rofl.gif" border=0>

Let's see the "old school" guys do it behind an outboard as well! <BR> <BR>I'd bet they've been spoiled by modern wakes at this point as well.

Parks-best rider of all time <BR>Vandal- best rider to watch. <BR>End of story

zuka666 05-31-2007 8:44 PM

David Williams has the pull to make a vid that has the U.S.of A's sickest riders doing a segment of "No Wake Zone"(JZ)2007. Anti-up and create it with the most creative of boats, I think I started a new trend.
