I'm not a big fan of the tower. It looks like the Axis tower. I would think that it's just an option.

http://supraboats.com/worldspackage/
It is an option for 2010. I personally love it.
Its ugly.
I think it's one of the few towers that can make the cargo rack bimini look good. Looks way better than the axis tower in my opinion.
I think its kinda sweet and it looks like it will fold down neet and easy.
Don't get me wrong. I still love the Supra. I think something like a Tige RZ2 tower would of looked better IMO. I wonder how many people will opt for that tower.
looks like they couldnt decide between a Monster or a Malibu tower
I think it's kind of nice. It flows with the lines of the boat very well, especially the windshield.
Here it is...

Looks very Malibu/MB/Monster...

I love that tower and tower. Man - that thing is SLUMPED in that pic. I remember someone talking about how much weight it had up front. I honestly think Skiers Choice should change that pic out. Makes the front look WAY too easy so submarine and a buyer not familiar with totally weighting out the front might get scared off..

Love that boat.
I think that looks sweet. I saw this pic earlier and have been wondering why they are not showing pics all over the internet. I like everything about it and would like to see one in person.
looks like it blocks the driver's view on his side
It really doesn't obscure the drivers view, it actually was designed a little lower and more in line with the windshield. It was brought up to allow that visibility. It's rock solid, I love it, I want to put one on my 24v
The graphics sure look familiar (I do like them). Is Dave working for Supra now?
My thoughts as well Jeff. That pic to would def scare me off too if I was unfamiliar without how much weight they are running up front. Looks freakin awesome though!
This boat was actually shot at the WWA World Championships in Orlando...so your right it had alot of weight in it. And it is an option for all 22 and 24 series. Should be available for all 21 and 20's soon. Hope that helps.
My problem with it is that it tries to follow the windshield but then doesn't. I understand why but it make it look like a fail. Also it's to blocky with harsh angles for such a beautifully sculpted boat. One contact point towers should flow more and have more of an organic feel to them, this one fails in that measure.
To me it follows the windshield in every way. Maybe this picture doesn't do it justice.
Looks much more garage friendly than the current towers when down
I like the bimini with the padded cross bars.
That is a very eye catching design. However, it kind of looks like they took the old VLX illusion tower and the X-star tower and combined them into one tower. Sorry but I think the tower progression in this industry is getting too crazy. I loved where Mailbu was going with their towers and then the 2010 comes out with their new tower and I hate it.
Tower progression is just a cost effective way to deliver a new boat without actually progressing boat design.I am really looking foward to the progression of drive systems and wakebuilding techniques but I think the economy has set that at a snails pace.
What else can they do with towers?
That tower is just not working for me....
I love the boat, liked the old Supra tower better.
Maybe if it was all black it would flow more...
I read somewhere that possibly the tower design patent owned by CC is being avoided because there are only 2 feet on the hull (as opposed to 2 more in front of the windshield).
I'm not sure if it's true, but seems credible considering the funky designs we've seen from various manufacturers.
Thats a very effective design IMO! I dig it!
I like the tower.
It'll probably end up growing on me...
Bill K
I heard the old Correct Craft tower patent ran out. Is this true?
I sure hope so!
Diggs,
This site says the patent expires in 2024.
I thought they were only good for 7 years & there were 2 opportunities to revise or extend that. Assuming it was issued in 1999, that would be 25 yrs. I know several other companies who were not able to maintain a patent for that length of time.

So who knows...... your guess is as good as anyones.

Edit: it does mention two "inverted U shaped structures", each with a pair of legs..... that definitely does sound like a conventional tower design & not anything like the one in the picture above or any Illusion style tower.

I'd be willing to bet this is a subject that a few patent lawyers have made some money arguing about.

(Message edited by bill_airjunky on January 06, 2010)

Overall I think that Supra looks pretty good. The colors aren't too much and it all kinda flows well
Uggggly.
The CC patent:

http://news.google.com/patents?id=VW19AAAAEBAJ&printsec=abstract& zoom=4&source=gbs_overview_r&cad=0#v=onepa ge&q=&f=false

This supra tower avoids the CC patent by NOT attaching to the boat stradling the "operator station". It also does it in style. The lines match the windshield and the structure that emulates a traditional attractive tower.
Thats the 2003 revision of the patent that was originally done in 1999. They changed the verbage a bit. Says something to the effect of "relatively rigid vertical support fitted to one side, a second relatively rigid vertical support fitted to the opposing side, and a horizontal support extending between upper extremities of the vertically extending supports, at a height substantially above the level of the operator".

Doesn't really sound specific at all about whether or not their are 2 feet or 4, and nothing about the spacing or position of any of the feet. Seems to me the revision was to broaden the scope a bit. Although the pics look like the original FCT.

I didn't find any info about an expiration or end date.
I'm diggin' the look. I think it looks great with the Cargo Rack.
Ugly..ugly..ugly
Z5 folds down with progressive tower. I could see this helping some with covered boat lifts.
Does Malibu's Illusion tower get around the CC patent?
Andrew.....Its not nearly as ugly as the tower on your boat....come on its not bad at all....hopefully its solid aswell.
I went to the Houston boat show and that tower looks a whole lot better in person.
I like it and that boat is slumpin'.
As a designer I just dont like the lines. The lines are to simple with no style! Im a Supra guy too. My tower is traditional and solid as a roll bar in Nascar! Lol, Jet

I also designed mine and had it built, It unhooks in the front and lays back for storage. sweeet

(Message edited by andrewjet on January 10, 2010)

Jet, if you have a better design, throw it SC's way. You never know, that could be your big break.
I will have a boat with the new tower at the Arkansas marine expo, January 22-24, for anybody who wants to see it in person. Great looking tower and great folding design. IMO.
I also saw it at the Houston boat show and agree it looks much better in person.
