How Does Rope Length Effect Your Riding? <BR> <BR>Right now I ride at 65' because thats where my wake [2003 Sky Supreme v208] seems to be best, BUT, when I am cutting in at the most subtle change I lose a lot of rope tension, is this normal because it didn't seem to do this last year. <BR> <BR>Also will rope length effect anything like hangtime?

riding a longer line will widen the wake, give you more room to cut out further, give you more hangtime and youll go bigger. but you have to ride faster to keep the wake clean. <BR>if your losing line tension when you cut in the you probably have a problem with your edging technique. make sure you load the line by edging harder and harder as you approach the wake and hold it all the wake up.

Jason is right a longer line will give you more hang time, but you will have to go faster to keep the wake clean. Makes a big difference with the extra time you get in the air. Good Luck!

Another thing I've heard about riding a long line is it lets you generate more speed without compromising body position. Made a lot of sense to me and never thought of it like that.

Trevor- <BR>You mention that when you cut in you are losing rope tension, slack in the rope? Be sure to post (flatten) the board to allow it to slow down after your cut out. Also try not cutting out so far, many riders think you need a lot of speed to clear the wake, edging and rope tension are far more important. Remember to ease into the turn to the wake. If you turn too quickly, the boat will pull you off your edge. You could also take a more gradual cut out into the flats, just remember to flatten the board to let it slow down.
