-   -   Void Warranty? (http://www.wakeworld.com/forum/showthread.php?t=623819)

My father in law saw my setup this weekend and asked me if companies were still strict on using matching bindings and boards. I am riding Obrien bindings on a CWB board. Does that void the warranty on either? I would think not, but I don't know.

sidekicknicholas 09-08-2008 7:35 AM

nope....pretty much the only thing that voids it is rails

1r3land 09-09-2008 12:29 PM

nah, rails will kill the warranty thought like nick said! one slider= warranty out the window lol

KIA cars have a great warranty too, but that doesn't mean I would be caught dead driving one. <BR> <BR><img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/clipart/biggrin.gif" border=0>

ride900 09-09-2008 1:29 PM

I know that it does void it on CWB and more then one other company but how are they going to know what bindings were on it.

jarrod 09-09-2008 1:31 PM

ride900....what are you talking about?

to_blind 09-09-2008 1:57 PM

j-rOD, WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?? you ride the Kia of wakeboards....haha here we go, I'll admit it, I'm a CWB hater, just have had nuthin but bad experiences with them ( incl. but not limited to inserts pulled, delams, snaps, and everyones fav., the Hinge enema)

showtime 09-09-2008 2:14 PM

I had Hyperlite deny warranty on a board a few years back that broke due to bindings being Liquid Force.....

andy_nintzel 09-09-2008 2:17 PM

J-Rod, <BR> <BR>you rock a kia!

wakemania 09-09-2008 2:20 PM

The safest way is to make sure by calling your dealer or the manufacturer.

jarrod 09-09-2008 2:30 PM

hahah...i was just taking a stab at my brotha Andy. <BR> <BR>"I had Hyperlite deny warranty on a board a few years back that broke due to bindings being Liquid Force..... " <BR> <BR>No shiat???? That's rediculous.

eubanks01 09-09-2008 2:32 PM

Tickle - Really?? I had Hyperlite replace a 6 year old board with a brand new pro model because the inserts ripped out. Their customer service is awesome in my experiences.

K.B.C. 09-09-2008 3:16 PM

^^^I second that. They warrantied a 2 year old board of mine, no questions asked

wake_upppp 09-09-2008 5:24 PM

"the hinge enema"... ouch, that don't sound good!<img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/clipart/blush.gif" border=0>

bailey 09-09-2008 5:28 PM

I ripped the inserts out of a hyperlite roam and the shop told me they would not warranty it because it was more than a year old.

coreym 09-12-2008 12:42 PM

Tickle, <BR> <BR>This is Corey from customer service at Hyperlite, I am not sure who or why the board was denied for warranty, but it shouldn't have been denied for LF bindings. You should call me up and I will take care of you. 800-938-4646. Thanks.

coreym 09-12-2008 12:45 PM

BTW, I cant warranty the roam I don't think. Roam warranty is one year. So i can only warranty 07 and 08 roams right now. Sorry about that.

ride900 09-12-2008 1:24 PM

I can tell you that most boards warranty are void if you don't have their bindings on them. I know this for a fact, But like I said how are they gonna know. It's just what it states in their papers. That's what the question was and I have been told that is the answer.

andy_nintzel 09-12-2008 2:07 PM

J-Rods new WHIP! <BR><img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/clipart/rofl.gif" border=0> <BR> <BR>Yeah its a 95'! <BR> <BR><img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/65919/625673.jpg" alt="Upload">

CWB warr rocks! never had a problem.. As for LF their warr is great, I use it every year.. almost never made it a whole season with their bindings? <BR>Stupid, I guess I keep buying them? <BR>G

showtime 09-12-2008 2:31 PM

WHOA WHOA WHOA WHOA WHOA... <BR> <BR>Let me clear something up... I was evidently typing faster than I was thinking.... I had a LF board denied due to using Hyperlite bindings... I asked how they knew.... I was riding the Byerly bindings w/ the claw set-up.... My mistake.... <BR> <BR>Corey, thanks for chiming in.... I cannot complain about Hyperlite at all.. For the most part a life-time warr... LF on the other hand seems to be a year only...I like their bindings better, but they do not last like some others..... <BR> <BR>Josh
