Floor jack locations for DHM dual axle trailer
 

Can someone tell me where are good spots on an DHM dual axle trailer to use a floor jack on? I need to remove a wheel to check the brakes and want to make sure I lift it correctly.

It has no leaf springs. It is a torsion type setup. Solid beam across to a pivoting joint to wheel.

On tandem axle trailer I have always used a floor jack inbetween the tires where to leaf springs come together. Just make sure that you chock the tires on the other side. If you are going to be under the trailer, it is always good to use a jack stand as well.

Mario, place the jack directly under the axle, as close to the wheel as you can get without hanging up on anything.

I don't even bother with a jack on my tandem. Just drive one wheel up on a 4x4 and it lifts the other off the ground. If you can't move the trailer then you can also use a bottle jack. I prefer my bottle jack over a floor jack if I don't have it hooked up to the truck.

Really, on a trailer, any main frame rail or axle location is fine.

The best is lifting the axle you need to work on, as close to teh wheel as you can get.

Lifting from the axle allows you to get the wheel off without first letting the suspension droop, like you would have to do if you lifted from the frame.
