I'm looking for a new boat but we have a 21' length limit on our lake. I want something with an intergrated ballast and under $25k. Any suggestions.

i don't believe there is any such thing as a new boat with integrated ballast for 25K, unless you count a livewell on fishing boat!

Sorry I meant "new to me" used boat.

Look for an older MC 205 wakeboard edition or a 205 and sack it out yourself. You might be able to find one around that price range.

agreed, 205V is what I have. You would have to put a ballast system on it yourself but you could easily get into one for $25 or less depending on hours and condition.

Thanks guys, what sort of ballast system did you put in. I want something out of the way. Also any idea what year Tige started making their 20V, are there any older models of those out there.

Another vote for the MC 205!!!

MC 205 or 205v will make an awesome wake

95 or newer Correct Craft Super Sport would be a good option

check out used moombas. they will have a ballast system integrated. the mobius lsv. 2003-2004-2005.

etakk7 11-02-2006 10:32 AM

(phat in cincy) did an awesome automatic ballast install on his 2004 205V. Do a search, there are a couple threads about that.

etakk7 11-02-2006 10:33 AM

by the way 205V's are 20' 7", so you will be just under your limit. I doubt if they would count the swim platform, which would put you over 21'.

Malibu Wakesetter VLX pre 2004 is 21 feet. The new ones are 21.5 feet.
You might have to up your budget a little bit.

Calibria Cal-Air. I have an 03 and love it. 700lbs ballast. Holds 10 people. Best boat out there for the money.

MB's have 2100 lbs of factory ballast on their 21' B-52's. The wake is better on the 23 footers, but the 21' is decent and has a really good wakesurfing wake. Check out http://www.mbboats.com.
